unbinding keyboard shortcuts (solved)

I'm not having any success when I try to unbind certain keyboard shortcuts.  For example: if I highlight L in Preferences - Customization - Keyboard Shortcuts and click on Unbind, nothing changes.  I get the same result if I also highlight the associated function in the function box, which I believe the manual says to do.

Am I missing something?  I would like to get rid of some of these bindings for keys that I sometimes hit by accident.

Unbind removes user created shortcuts

To "unbind" factory supplied shortcuts, in the Global Area bind the shortcuts to the function Do Nothing: Use to block pre-defined accelerators

I think there's still a limit to how many keys you can bind to Do Nothing before CbB crashes (and loses your edits to keybindings) so be wary.
