Well, if you don't know what the Unison Technology does for you, it might seem you are buying it "just for Apollo." Apollo's Unison Technology actually changes the internal circuitry of their preamps to match the physical hardware (according to UAD). As an Apollo user I can say that using a Unison plug on the printed to disk recording chain is miles ahead of the native plugins offered by other vendors. YMMV.

Great product. Takes a little time to wrap your head around it (at least it did for me). Ceiling Of Sound is a pretty nifty product of theirs too.

I've never done any MIDI in PT. Never will. I barely do MIDI editing in StudioOne or CbB/(soon to be) SONAR.
