I think the problem to put a policy in place is at least you have to have the minmum stability and visibility on products life and dev witch i think ik own guyz don t have necessarely . They chose the safest and easiest way to handle it to keep it simple for both side at the expense of sometime faireness ...but at least it s not PA like choatic .... Now what Larry pointed out is something we see more and more with every brands forcing to re buy stuff again and again and being so agressive in price for new comers that it doesn t make sens to event bother for old costumers witch is imho THE issue ... clients like to feel considered and taken care of ....even after purchase ... marketing guyz are too often focused on sales technic but not enougth in clients portofolio management .

It s atool and will be what you do with it NKS isnt cheap for brands like kontakt was also , but at least a brand proposed some kinda standard .... fair enougth .... it can be discussed but at the end the end user experience is what i m focusing here (by saying this , this doesn t mean your point is not relevant , like everybody , monopoly is something i hate But sometime its not a wishe but a consequence of stuff done right ;)). KK is worth already with the arpegg and chords built in once you really know how to use it ( yeturday i made patch in massive , keyz envolving and used chords with the arpegg to create a strum , flam , call it how you want ....it was just fast and beautyfull ...giving that tis works with any controllers is a plus !!h For the op , NI controllers are exellent and the integration is solid , transports works with all major daws , editing is easy , the whole experience makes it the best choice imho .... specially if you own nks supported instruments ...previews are time savers , and tags : you can use it or not i rarelly use those , only sorteed by brands and go straight the instruments i know is good for this or that .... Support is serious , maintenance is solid and prices are fair . -
May i suggest Alpha comp , this is my fav one out of all in Pa catalog fallowed byt the spl iron and townhouse .... but the elysia allies eveything we need for master bus and the clipping is exellent ...

I went for the fuse audio labs stuff the 373 , the 376 and the cs68 are what i got ...less cpu hungry and another color imho the cassset squash transient without the phase issues i have with oher stuff ... something that reminds me really old tape dynamic behavior ...
