Reverb/delay fx recommendations

Wow! There's a lot to explore and also really useful to be able to see the control layouts. Thanks, very much appreciated. -
Reverb/delay fx recommendations
southcoaststeve replied to southcoaststeve's topic in Instruments & Effects
Good shout, Erik! I've literally just installed this and am really enjoying the sounds I'm getting from it. This is exactly the sort of thing I'm after, are there any others that have similar capabilities that I can play with? -
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a reverb/delay plugin that will create an airy, atmospheric effect for a guitar part. If you're familiar with the Earthquaker Dispatch Master pedal, then that's the kind of sound I'm after. Does anyone have any recommendations for plugins that will do the job? Thanks!

No audio unless whole project in solo
southcoaststeve replied to Michael Reynolds's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Thanks Noel but it appears to have fixed itself! I opened up the project again a couple of days later and it was working again as normal. I had replaced the fx plugins on a couple of tracks so maybe it was an issue with one of them. Anyhow, I appreciate the offer. -
No audio unless whole project in solo

Hi everyone, I just had this exact same issue with a track I'm currently working on. Everything was working as it normally does and then all the tracks became silent and will only play when the solo button is activated. I am using the latest version 2022.11 and not utilising tracks created in older versions of the software - everything has been freshly recorded. Is anyone else still experiencing this issue? Thanks. PS I've just checked several projects that I've created previously and they all appear to be working fine. -
As a couple of people have suggested, it's leakage from the headphones being picked up by the guitars. Some adjustment of the volume levels whilst recording is all that's required. Thanks for your input everyone..

I have tried it with 4 different sets of varying types (including earbuds!) and the issue is apparent with them all. The set I use most often for recording are Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros which are a closed back design.
-
Yes, I have other sets of headphones so my next step is to see if the issue occurs with them all. My setup is very simple as I am new to this game and didn't want run before I could walk: Instrument > iD4 > PC > Cakewalk.
-
It's the headphones... I recorded a portion of the track with the headphones plugged in and then removed them for the next part. I did this a few times during the track and each time the headphones were connected the crosstalk occurred and when I unplugged them it disappeared. So now we know the cause, but is it the interface or the headphones that are the root of the problem? Thanks for all your help so far.

Ok, so I played the individual track and yes, the artifacts are present. In fact there is a section of the track where the bass is silent for approximately 10 seconds and I can hear all the other tracks during that section. I'm using and Audient iD4 interface.
-
Thanks Chris. Just tried that but the box within the loop construction window is greyed out.

Thanks for the speedy response. The drums are a WAV file that I imported into the track and looped. The guitar and bass are DI'd into an audio interface.

I've been messing around with Cakewalk for a while and trying to get to grips with how it operates. Armed with enough knowledge to make my first 'proper' recording, I set about creating a track using a guitar, a bass and a drum sample. However, when I listen to the isolated bass I can hear the drums very faintly in the background during quieter sections of the track. Also, one of the guitar tracks can be heard in the background of a separately recorded track. Does anyone know why tracks might be bleeding into one another? I'd appreciate your wisdom. Thanks.
-
Ah.... yes it's a standard wav file. So effectively it's a 'recording' rather than a 'constructed' beat and therefore cannot be manipulated in the same way?

Hi all, I have created a track and set the tempo to 80bpm and into this track imported a drum loop which is also 80bpm. However, when I try to loop this track (Ctrl L + drag) it alters the tempo of the clip to half time. If I change the tempo setting to 160bpm in the control bar, then the drum loop reverts back to it's original tempo. Now I know how to fix the issue I can work around it but can anyone tell me why this might happen? Thanks in advance.

I just ordered an Audient id4. It was well reviewed. -
Orange OMEC Teleport Audio Interface

I've heard good things about Audient products too. The id4 punches way above its price tag apparently. -

Thanks John. Is that the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Generation? -

Thanks guys. I have read some reviews that say it does not marry well with Cakewalk and the lack of ASIO is an issue. -
Hi, does anyone have any experience with this product? I'm looking for an interface that's simple, compact and with low latency to sit between a cab sim and my PC. Thanks.

Torpedo CAB M+ and Cakewalk

Thanks, Kurre. I think I'd rather be safe and connect an interface between the CABM and PC. I 've fried soundcards in the past.... -

So CAB M to interface to PC rather than CAB M to PC direct? -

Sorry I meant to write 1/4" TRS jack to USB into my PC. -

Thanks scook. I am connecting the guitar directly into the AMP IN (1 on the diagram) of the CAB M. So I will also need and XLR to USB cable from the LINE OUT (E) into my PC? Forgive my ignorance but this is all new to me.... -

Ah, OK. So I need a separate interface?
