  2. They're aimed more for Metal, but you can get some other good tones out of them. If you like to tweak a bit, they might be worth it....I need instant wows lol.

I got most them on their $5 deals. However, I haven't used any of them in a track as I have better amp sims and don't do a whole lot of metal. I just couldn't pass up the $5 deals ;).

On a similar note, I'm thinking of getting the Ownhammer deal going on.

I have AT&T gigabit fiber here and it is really great.  I'd still rather have FiOS but it wasn't available where I am now.  I just like the account management and other non-connection-related stuff from Verizon a little bit more.  AT&T's login/t management tools are a bit behind.  But the internet service is reliable and fast with fiber.

I do have AT&T TV because the package was super cheap and it is interesting as it isn't literally "cable" so they're basically offering the cable channel lineup as a streaming service.  Seems a bit "one foot in, one foot out" effort but I'm OK with it because I don't need to use the existing coax ports in the house so I can pull ethernet to replace those cable runs very easily (tie one to the other, pull the old out while the new gets pulled up through the walls basically).

Same here with the AT&T gigabit fiber and using that  with the Firestick. Cut cable many, many years ago and saved quite a bit.

  4. Newbie alert!

I'm collecting these deals for my children to use later on (they're still enjoying drawing by hand and improving there).  Would this  be something they could use as is    or is there more software to buy to  actually use this bundle ?  A bit hard to follow   with all the info  posted here. (BTW,  they still don't have any digital drawing tablets yet as  I'm  just collecting software ATM).

Don't want to get into any subscription models either, but just want   to    use them as is (once we get the tablet).

I do have Flame Painter 4 with a some brush packs in my account at Humble Bundle and thinking of adding this bundle as well.   :)

rbowser had a nice generic walk-through from 2006 that is still applicable. The comment about reverb giving the perception of far away is valid. How he talks of setup is good, especially for beginners (with sends/busses). No real "rule of thumb" with that part. He hints at using other reverbs (on other reverb busses), but doesn't go into that detail.

Being sparing in reverb usage is a good guide (depending on genre). Comments like "dial up till you can barely notice it, then back it off" is often good advice for anything front and center. Other than that, no real "rules," but be mindful that reverb is like a "frequency smear." If you go overboard, you will often negate any EQ you took the time to do prior (i.e., the mud). For this reason, any time-based FX should be last in the signal chain in most instances.

Thanks for posting that link Mettelus, very useful info.

I found the TE-100 to be a good one. Sounded 'interesting' but VSTs pack a lot of marketing expertise and decided to demo it first.

And it's pretty fun to play with. The modality is a bit different but takes all of 20 secs to figure out and then you just run with it.

It might qualify for the quickest time from demo to purchase.

This ^^^ was my experience as well and really liked what it does to any instruments/tracks. Thanks for the recommendation. :)

  8. I'm liking this GR6 (demo) as it has a lot to offer especially with all the Fx's. The amps responded pretty well (really liked that Chicago amp) and enjoyed quite a few of the presets available. They've definitely improved quite a bit from GR5....don't think it's quite worth the $199 price tag, but around the $99 price point, I might jump on this.

Already bought Imprint from a previous plugin boutique deal (certainly like the idea, wish it had more flexibility to soften the attack and then adjust that).

I bought Audiority's Pre X7 for about $10 this month so that is another option to look at to pick up the free ones.   (It isn't a massive discount off of "retail" but Audiority makes good stuff that is already fairly priced)

Brian, how do you like the Pre X7?

Is it useful for all instruments/sound sources?

Beside with Bill always making Pies he covers up the smell of the marijuana.  Hmm maybe that is why Bill is always baking Pies ?

By no means am I a certified Dr., but I did know a street pharmacist who confirmed that pies are baked due to the after effects of the THC.....YMMV.
