What is the audio setting when not using an Audio Interface
GodinLG replied to GodinLG's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
The Master is assigned to the speakers .. As a test I tried Cakewalk Bandlab and it worked fine .. I quickly compared the settings to Sonar and they seems to be the same. I will go thru the settings in more details .. Very strange -
What is the audio setting when not using an Audio Interface

Also most of the midi tracks are already frozen .. Not sure if this makes a difference or not .. -

The songs are a mix of audio and midi tracks and the midi tracks are already assigned to an instrument .. I can hear the songs when using the Audio Interface . But not when there's no audio interface .. Thanks -
I do not see the included plugins in Cakewalk Sonar

What is the audio setting when not using an Audio Interface

No MIDI keyboard , just the laptop .. I was hoping to be able to mix and master a couple of songs that I already have created and maybe add midi instruments. I basically just went to the Preferences, and choose WASAPI Shared for Drive Mode in the Playback section, I noticed that automatically the output drivers becomes my Realtek laptop speakers by default in the Devices section, and the Playback Timing master is also assigned to the Realtek Laptop Speakers .. But no sounds comes out when playing a already recorded song .. This is windows 10, the Windows Speaker setting is set to the Realtek laptop speaker and I can hear sound when in Youtube .. or Deezer etc .. -
Hi, I recently installed Cakewalk Sonar on a new laptop but I do not see the included drum, bass, strings plugins that comes with Cakewalk by bandlab . I can see all the plugins that I manually installed (ex: Kontakt, Ujam etc) but shouldn't Cakewalk Sonar come with the same plugins as Cakewalk Bandlab ? Thanks

What is the audio setting when not using an Audio Interface
GodinLG posted a topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Hi, I usually use an audio interface (Scarlett 2i2) with Cakewalk to record audio and it works great .. I will be bringing my laptop with me on a trip but not the interface and would like to know what would be the appropriate setting just to be able to hear and record midi instruments (I will not be recording audio) .. In the Audio section I usually use the ASIO driver that comes with the Scarlett , so what should be the setting if no audio interface is present ? I tried MME, WASAPI but I get no sound .. Thanks in advance -
Crackling with Cakewalk Sonar .. any settings I can adjust to reduce it?
GodinLG replied to GodinLG's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
OK I seem to have found the culprit, if I freeze the Kontakt track the crackling is gone .. So it seem to be related to Kontakt .. I recently upgraded to Kontakt 7, maybe it requires more resources that the previous version .. I was plaining to upgrade the memory on my laptop to 16G, so maybe this will help.. Thanks for the replies -
Hi, I recently installed Cakewalk Sonar, I have been using Cakewalk Bandlab for about 3 years now .. I seem to get a lot of crackling with Cakewalk Sonar, I tried adjusting the Audio driver buffer size but same thing . I use a Focusrite 2i2 with the Focusrite ASIO driver and never had these issue with Cakewalk Bandlab .. But I recently noticed that I also get it if I'm only using Plugins and no Audio (guitar) .. Ex: I was using plugins from Kontakt, Analog Lab V and Ujam and noticed crackling. Its the same computer, its a ACER i7 with 12G, Windows 10 What settings could I adjust to reduce the crackling ? Any feedback is appreciated Thanks

HI, I'm trying to convert some of the BandLab audio sounds to midi but it's not woking. I dragged the BandLab audio sounds into Cakewalk and it created an Audio track andI can hear the audio sample. I then created an Instrument track , I tried using different ones, ex: CakeWalk TTS-1, SI- Electric Piano, Labs Piano etc, then dragged the Audio clip to the Instrument track but I always get the same result, nothing happens, no midi track gets created. Am I missing a step ? Thanks

Hi, I really like Cakewalk and that's the DAW that I use most of the time. But from time to time I use Cubase for the Chord Pads function, so that I can easily access Chord progressions in a specific key and can just draw and drop chord patterns into the DAW. This feature would be really useful in Cakewalk .. Any eta to implement such a feature. Thanks again

Can I have Overloud TH3 and THU installed at the same time ?
GodinLG replied to GodinLG's topic in Instruments & Effects
Thanks that worked after "Rescan of Failed Plugins" . Sorry I didn't realize that I had to change it to Manual Scan to be able to do the Rescan of Failed Plugins. Thanks again for the quick reply -
Can I have Overloud TH3 and THU installed at the same time ?
GodinLG replied to GodinLG's topic in Instruments & Effects
Thanks for the info I have a couple of follow up questions 1) For THU RockGuy , the site mentions that it can be used by itself or with THU, but once I downloaded it mentioned the following: >>Make sure to have TH-U version 1.4.7 or greater installed on your computer. You can download the latest version here: >>Click here to download the latest TH-U version >>To start the demo, open TH-U, then click on Demo and on the pack you want to start the demo, like in the picture below: When I clicked on the link , it brings me to the page to download THU Premium Demo, so I'm a bit confused do I need THU ? If so , can I use the THU Premium Demo indefinitely or do I need to but it ? 2) For the Archetype Petrucci , I did the SCAN RESET , still no go, but I forgot to add the log, so I did a normal CSAN to create the log , this is what the log indicates: ---- 43: c:\program files\common files\vst3\Archetype Petrucci.vst3 ---- VSTSCAN: [ShortPath] c:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1\vst3\ARCHET~1.VST VSTSCAN: [RegKey] Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/common files/vst3/Archetype Petrucci.vst3 VSTSCAN: Previously scanned - NOT a VST plugin --- 70: c:\program files\vstplugins\Archetype Petrucci.dll ---- VSTSCAN: [ShortPath] c:\PROGRA~1\VSTPLU~1\ARCHET~1.DLL VSTSCAN: [RegKey] Software\Cakewalk Music Software\Cakewalk\Cakewalk VST X64\Inventory\c:/program files/vstplugins/Archetype Petrucci.dll VSTSCAN: Previously scanned - NOT a VST plugin Thanks in advance for any feedback -
HI, I have 2 questions regarding guitar amps plugins 1) I currently use the Overloud TH3 that came with cakewalk, I was interested in trying THU or THU RockGuy . I want to keep TH3 as this is my main guitar amp plugin. I tried different free ones but always come back to TH3. Can I install THU and still have TH3 or will it try to upgrade my current TH3 version ? 2) I recently downloaded Neural Archetype Petrucci to try it out, but I do not see if via Cakewalk. I can use it as a standalone but cannot see if via Cakewalk, I tried a VST scan still the same issue, the Neural support guy indicated to try the VST scan RESET but this will erase all my pervious settings, which I don't really want to do. I can see the vst files in the proper directories. Has anyone used the Archetype Petrucci ? Any tips on why I cannot see it via Cakewalk ? Thanks
