We are happy to announce that updates are now available for all Pulsar Audio plug-ins. Our plug-ins previously relied on OpenGL for graphics rendering. However, display problems were reported due to compatibility issues with some specific graphics drivers. To solve this, we have developed a new graphics rendering system that uses the best available graphics features, such as Direct3D, Vulkan, or OpenGL, improving compatibility and optimizing resources. In addition, we have also fixed some major bugs on macOS: a crash on Pro Tools on ARM systems and a scanning problem in Audio Unit on Final Cut. Note for Mac users: from this version on, our plug-in bundles are renamed on Mac, to avoid conflicts with other plug-ins: for example "Mu.vst" becomes "Pulsar Mu.vst". Normally this should not be a problem, and we have tested this in all major DAWs; but it is possible that in some DAWs you have problems reloading old sessions. In this case, please contact us and we will help you put everything back in order. We just updated our beloved Mel-Lofi free virtual instrument plugin to version 2.0. What we added/changed: as you see, the GUI is changed to make room for new features; we took advantage of the opportunity and tried to make it more attractive; 4 completely new effects were added: delay, chorus, distortion with cabinet emulation, and reverb (different from the previous reverb); the background fx layers remain the same but they have new volume sliders and icons; we added a velocity knob, allowing you to play as usual with velocity sensitivity enabled, but also with fixed velocity like the original real instrument. The fixed velocity can be adjusted; the plugin now has 24 multi-sampled presets, with one more than the previous version. The preset is called Octave Strings and emulates old tape strings. We hope you like the new update! IMPORTANT: if you have projects created with Mel-Lofi 1.0, please note down your preset names before upgrading.
