I've never worked with Blender, but I can't see why you couldn't do that with just Blender. The $30 is a GREAT deal if you are looking to do "Pro Video" level work I'd download Blender and give it a go and see if it will do what you want... If not, then you still have time to jump on the $30 offer

I will admit that most of my 3D work was done in Cinema 4D. The Smart Comp is a nice, easy to use, and transparent, compressor IMO. The Smart Bundle, if you got the Proximity EQ earlier this year, is a no brainer. Very worthy tools to have in your arsenal!
