Ok..the update was due to new versions of T-Racks and Amplitube... So, if you go to your account and download and install the updates to those, you may STILL get the "update loop" problem. I resolved it by opening Amlitube, and running the Custom Shop through Amplitube by using the little "Shopping Cart" in the upper right hand corner. This fixed the problem for me and everything is fine now...

That's actually the strangest thing I've ever had happen with IK. While I gripe about everything else, their installations are usually solid!

Yes, Amplitube did update to 4.9.1 as expected... All is well now...if you hit the "loop" problem, just run Custom Shop through Amplitube (it's the little shopping cart in the upper right hand corner) and that should solve the problem!

Oddly, when I launched Custom Shop THROUGH Amplitube, which STILL shows version 4.9.0, it opened, and, after that, even the stand alone opened properly, but I can't find a version # now

yes ZT...it updated to 5.3.1 as expected. Everything else...FAIL

Exactly Grem! There is a HUGE difference between "not supporting" and "not allowing upgrades"

While the download Amplitube shows 4.9.1, but when you install it, it's 4.9.0, which is the same version already installed. Also, the Custom Shop that gets installed with BOTH installers is still 1.8.0 which gives the "infinite update loop"

Yes that "used" to be the case, but NO MORE. You must PURCHASE the product now. If you get it "free" in a promotion then it doesn't qualify. I know! I would have already purchased Total Studio Max if you were able to. The option wasn't available in my account. Only the "Crossgrade" for $80 more. They changed their policy from "any Max Title" to "Any PAID Max Title", thus rendering the "Max Your I/O" Promotional offering "ineligible"

Custom Shop update has not been uploaded yet. It still shows 1.8, which creates the "infinite loop". Guess I'll scurry off and do it all manually!

That Upgrade is for owners of TOTAL STUDIO MAX 1...not Total Studio 1, 2, OR 3... If they don't show up in your account then you can't buy them... I own Total Studio 3, and we've already had this conversation...there was NO UPGRADE PATH OFFERED, not does ANY show up in my account. And, since I wanted the Total Studio Max "Designation", despite the fact I already own just about EVERYTHING, I bought the Axe I/O to get Amplitube Max to be able to upgrade at the LOWEST POSSIBLE PRICE, and LOW AND BEHOLD, at the VERY SAME TIME, IK changed their POLICY to "ANY PAID MAX TITLE" from "ANY MAX TITLE". I still have ALL my original receipts, and I went through IK support and THEY assured me that THERE WAS NO UPGRADE OFFERED for Total Studio 3 Owners. I've been going on about this FOR YEARS!!! PS. My purpose was to show HOW MUCH we paid when we bought it "back when" and then got the shaft not being offered ANY upgrade path to Total Studio Max in ANY form...
