I believe I read that you can just drag the sample onto the instrument that you want to use it in, and it will import it...

Yes, and there is Elevate by New Fangled Audio (Eventide), and Rich by 2gether Audio... and several other "Mastering Suites"... That's why Slate needs to get on the ball and do something about the "standstill" on FG-X and do something different if they can't update the existing Plugin anymore
