Thanks! It is not that I'm too lazy, but technical things are difficult to understand. Been struggling for many years. I use stupid workarounds such as manually copying a part of a guitar to a new track to adjust the volume there, but it is tedious...that's why I'm asking what the best solution is. Clip volume used to work well...but only if I have all FX in every track WITHOUT busses. e.g. Track 1: guitar L: EZ Mix 3 distortion, C4, EZ Mix 3 bus out: master Track 2: guitar R: EZ Mix 3, distortion, C4, EZ Mix 3 bus out: master This works with clip envelopes... BUT: Track 1: guitar L out: guitar bus Track 2: guitar R out: guitar bus -> envelopes do not work. The sound of a certain track isn't changed UNLESS I use e.g. -15db or more... What am I missing? Is it because the guitar bus ignores the individual track volume (and envelope changes)?

Hello! In Cakewalk by Bandlab, I can click on a bar or beat of the bar, e.g. bar 155 or bar 138:3 ... with the mouse...and it jumps to the correct time. In Sonar I messed something up...or at least I cannot click bar 48 as it does not jump to the exact time, but lets me freely select any millisecond...and this makes navigating to a certain bar difficult. How can I make Sonar jump to the exact bar or beat without milliseconds?

I have two guitar tracks. One is 100% left, one 100% right...both go to the guitar bus. How can I lower a part of one of them? What is the difference between automation: volume and clip automation: gain?

Hi! How can I make a part of a track louder? e.g. my guitars are left, right and a lead guitar. During the lead, the right guitar should be x db lower in volume. There are envelopes...but what is the difference between automation: volume and clip automation: gain? The problem is that both the left and right tracks go to a guitar bus. The bus has the EZ Mix 3 sound, the Andy Sneap fix and a guitar bus from EZ Mix 3. Without busses, it works, but with the bus, the volume is not reduced when applied to the track with an envelope. How can I make a track's part from time x to time y softer by some dbs, BUT the track has a bus out?

No, I have wasted many years trying to understand compressors etc. and learning the dozens of expensive equipment I have. I am someone who writes songs and lyrics and does not understand technical stuff. I've followed YouTube tutorials, some of them doing the opposite of each other with no result and always afraid to "destroy" something in the recorded files. It's been giving me 20 years of nightmares with "I want to achieve something vs. I don't understand it and get depressed". I'll stick to manual automation then. Thanks. It is different sessions, but also a variety of articulations. I have a metal project that uses growls, screams, theatrical passages, whispering...and when recording everything alone at home, it is impossible to have even volumes for all words and all articulations.

Hi! How can I get my vocals with all words equally loud..about the same level without having to spend hours on manual automation? I have Vocal Rider by Waves, but it never works...and I don't know how to use compressors either...I have a couple of plugins, but they either don't do anything or not what I want. Do you know how I can level my vocals in an easy and fast way, e.g. "reference is -6db, everything below should go x db up, everything too loud should go x db down"?

Normally, I double-click a midi to load the piano roll, but I messed something up, maybe because I wanted to enter the name of a VSTi preset I wanted to save without clicking the keyboard icon first...anyhow, now double-clicking a midi no longer opens the piano roll, but the event task list. How can I change that?

The files are both in my documents folder AND in the default folder that Cakewalk uses. However, my audio plugins do not work...my vst instruments in the same folder do work.

No, I meant that the list "mixing" to "waves all" is my custom list of effects that I created in Cakewalk by Bandlab. When I load the file in Cakewalk Sonar, all I get is "Sonitus" and EZ Mix 3. All other folders and effects are not there: My custom layout "SeelenPuls" is selected. I loaded the layout in Sonar, then saved it and renamed it...but it does not matter if "SeelenPuls FX" or "SeelenPuls FX CS" is loaded...almost all folders and effects are missing but "Sonitus" and EZ Mix. It works with VSTi instruments, but not audio effects.

Hello! I just subscribed to one year of Sonar. Everything seems to be alright but the list of audio effects. My Cakewalk by Bandlab list of VSTi instruments can be loaded without problems, but the audio list does not work. Only the stock Sonitus effects are there and EZ Mix 3...all others aren't. Loading the list, then saving it under a new name in Sonar does not work either. Here's my full folder structure. Rescanning all plugins does not help either. Any ideas what to do?

Hey! When looking through the different settings, I saw that Cakewalk uses Asio4all here and not my audio device. I wanted to set it to Motu asio (my device), but it always resets to Asio4all. Why? This setting is about recording latency compensation.

Thanks! What should I set there? -1? VSL Libraries work with C1..., but I have to use articulation maps at C2...so Cakewalk is one octave too high and I need to change it to -1, correct?

Where can I set the middle C? It is one octave too high for many VSTi libraries.

Hello! Are there any fellow VSL Synchron Player/libraries here? I have a questions on VSL and articulation maps. Fortunately, Cakewalk supports them...with VSL libraries, normally you need to draw the keyswitches slightly before a note is played. Does this apply to the articulation map, too? Or can the changes be at the same time the note is played? Because you cannot fine tune the start as precisely as normal midi notes, e.g. 1/16 before a note.

I bought Cakewalk Sonar Professional in 2018 I think...it was 199€. 1) Can I use my old registration key to get some kind of special price? 2) I have a lot of plugins, folders, custom project structure, an entire studio SSD...I don't want to spend hours on transfering everything or maybe messing something up when installing the new Sonar. Can we install Sonar so it uses the same folders like Cakewalk by Bandlab? My files are on S: ... I don't want to install files to C:. 3) I've worked on half-finished songs for 20 years...without releasing them...I'm fine with spending 300€ (insert a similar price), but having to pay monthly without making progress hurts. Why can't we keep our Bandlab by Cakewalk software without having to upgrade? 4) Free vs. premium: • Track Manager (new) • Jump-to-track (new) • BandLab Sounds (new) • Elastique Pro • Plugin oversampling • POW-R dithering • Multiple Arranger tracks • Overloud TH-U guitar amp and FX modeling • ProChannel Modules Elastique Pro is time stretching, but it does not disable time strechting function of 3rd party plugins, correct? When extracting files/mixing them down, my default is pow-r3...but pow-r dithering is listed as premium-only...what should we select then?
