  1. Hi All, When I release a song, I export my (main) busses as stems to BandLab so to help facilitate others creating derivative works. As part of this workflow, I do my mastering on the Master buss. I do not use BandLab's mastering as I'm not happy with the results for my soundtrack/orchestra genre and I need to do it anyway for release to other outlets (SoundCloud, YouTube, etc). When BandLab Assistant uploads my track, it appears that BandLab mixes all the busses together equally to create the audio that plays in the site. However, I would like to include the Master buss with my mastering so that it has the proper loudness and EQ for listening in BandLab, but I'm concerned it will just get mixed with the other busses and essentially "double", clip, or mis-represent the presentation of the piece. My question is this: Is the BandLab site smart enough to recognize there is a "Master" channel/buss and not mix in the others for presentation?
  2. Nice tune. Adding the clarinet is a nice touch and the accents on the strings give them realism. I also like the "fluttering" panning ostinato in the background. I can see this easily translating to a chamber strings ensemble or orchestra.
  3. I actually thought it was going to be a Billy Joel cover - but then the fun began! I'll second that forwarding to people I know.
  4. Thanks for the comments everyone, it's good to hear I'm on the right track (or buss - I hate when I get on the wrong bus). @garybrun, @Wookiee, @Douglas Kirby - thanks for the read on your monitors. I'm currently stuck with headphones mixes until we can get into a house and I can get my own room for my studio, so it's a constant battle with mix, check everywhere I can, rinse and repeat. @Amicus717 I recently learned the technique of pulling down both as a transitional and contrast element. I like using it (especially now since I have a decent library of cinematic percussion), so you'll start to hear it used more in my later pieces coming soon to a discussion topic near you. @noynekker - Pun taken and enjoyed!
  5. I really like this. The groove and the organic feel to the cello impossible to get from sampled libraries.
  6. May be short as you say.... but you packed allot of fun in those 58 seconds!

  8. Very well done indeed! The multiple camera angles and PIPs were very interesting, especially seeing the main and harmony guitars playing at one. It was also cool to see Cakewalk in the background.
  9. Cool! That gave me some inspiration for some kind of space-ambient-chill-orchestral tune. Thanks!
  10. Edward's Journey by Fred's Gratis Scores CC-BY (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Made with Cakewalk by BandLab. A dulcimer provides the base for the orchestra as it marches ahead in this 110 BPM piece with heavy horns and a big ending. Playing catch-up in this forum section - I'll space them out so as not to spam the group.
  11. @57Gregy Thanks. Fortunately these stereo tracks were just side channels to the vox for thickening, so it seemed allot less work to just add a slap back delay instead. I may have to do the splitting technique if I get sent more "important" stereo tracks. I would be interested though to figure out if I hit a bug and get it reported, but I didn't see a specific forum section that wan't specific to the latest release.
  12. Hello, I have a some audio tracks imported to my project from a collaborator that I need to fine pitch correct so that they are in tune with my accompanying VST instruments. In clip properties, I select Groove Clip, click "Stretch to Temp" and set the Fine Pitch to 17.5. This works great on the imported mono tracks, but when I do the exact same for the imported stereo tracks, the is gradually slows the track putting it out of time with no way to correct it. Has anyone else run in to this? Thanks!
