Komplete Kontrol Stuck Scanning Plugins - Any Workaround?
ZincT replied to ZincT's topic in Instruments & Effects
Thanks @Wookiee, I am using the sandbox in Cakewalk. However, I should have said that I was trying KK standalone, but your post made me realise that it can be used as a plugin! So, I just tried loading it into Cakewalk and it opens which at least gives me access to the KK preferences and the ability to do a manual scan. If I do nothing but open it in Cakewalk, it still seems to be scanning as the preset count is increasing, but if I try to load a preset I get... I'm going to try simplifying the scan locations in the KK plugin preferences, then do a manual scan and see if that clears things up. -
Since my keyboard (M-Audio Oxygen 49) is now supported by KK, I decided to see what it had to offer. Only to find that it gets stuck at the first hurdle, scanning my plugins. It's not the same plugin every time, so it seems like more of a bug than an issue with my plugins, which are scanned okay by numerous other DAWs/Hosts without any issues. So I wondered if anyone else had similar problems and found a solution or workaround? I mean this is not new software, right? So why the hell doesn't it have a "skip" button to skip any plugins it has issues with? Thanks in advance.

Yup, they must have changed the name (to protect the innocent :)
-
That's solved that one, thanks ππ»π

I'm also a fan of FAME. I found the lo-fi plugin a bit "over the top". I find XLN Retro Color much more to my liking. I will do some more tweaking though. Were you able to install Pusher? I installed from the latest version of T-Racks 6 (6.1.3) in Product Manager but this doesn't seem to include Pusher. I tried an older version of T-Racks which I had archived and it did contain Pusher but this won't authenticate presumably due to being an older version. I have raised a support ticket with IKM.
-
Esteban is correct, but it may also be the difference between the way presets are shown in T-Racks 5 vs T-Racks 6. Here's a screenshot with TR6 Fame at the top and TR5 Fame at the bottom. Personally, I prefer the TR5 preset system.

I heard back from them with a personal voucher code to upgrade for $49. Thanks again for the suggestion ππ»
-
Worth a try, I have emailed them. Thanks
-
Hope you get it sorted. Sweetwater were excellent when I used them before. The only issue I have is that I'm checking out all the new modules but I don't see Pusher anywhere. I had the Intro version installed previously, so I removed it and installed T-Racks 6 Max separately as @Nitrate Audio suggests.

@Esteban Villanova Have you checked your spam folders? Here are the emails I received from Sweetwater. I am in the UK and ordered this at around 8.14am UK time this morning. Here's what I received from Sweetwater... At 8.15 am an email from "Sweetwater.com" with my order number and details. At 8.20 an email from "sales" stating that my order had "shipped". At 8.20 an email from "Fred Foster" with my activation code. At 8.25 an email from Sweetwater about getting started with my new gear. So I received my activation code approximately 6 minutes after placing my order. I registered it successfully in IK Product Manager.

Ah yes, that's right. It would have been $49 for me as I had SA3. Apologies for any confusion @audioschmaudio
-
Thanks. Wish I'd got this on intro price ($49) but I'm tempted by this anyway as I have SA3 and this has some useful improvements.
-
Great spot, thanks @kitekrazy1! Installed!

The updates weren't posted here though, which is probably why I have only just found them. Hopefully someone will find it useful.

No problem, man! I keep thinking I should get the official course too, but there's so much other information available, I haven't yet seen the need π I also went through the Groove 3 Scaler Explained course when I had an all access pass, which was half decent. Also, there are many gems in the posts from Claudio Porcellana on the Scaler Music Forum, such as this one which shows how to use the free Chordz in tandem with Scaler to good effect. -
