Improv Piece, Part I (original version)
David Sprouse replied to Adalheidis Daina Aletheia's topic in Songs
repitition plays such a huge role in music. I liked your variations here. You're opening motif is catchy. I was waiting for a contrasting section, though it felt complete by the end of the piece. -
Love the exotic sounds. I can see all this on a stage. katy has a most excellent voice. Sondheim would approve. :D:D

Thanks Paul. The original is very different (and excellent) if you get a chance to hear it. It's L. 493/K 301.
-
I agree about the bass, it's excellent. Singer got the elvis vibrato, so mic choice was good. was that an ondes martinot? haha great job.
-
Makke you're too kind. Thanks for lending me your ears. David Lynch..hmm thx bjorn. Did he do TWIN PEAKS?
-
You used silence excellently. The sounds are so unique, and then.... a melody! I didn't expect that. I pictured a mariachi band falling into a black hole.

Peter, I'm a classical guitarist and have developed osteo arthritis in both hands....so I can relate to the tendonitist story. Luckily, I'm more interested in creating new things than I am rehashing the repertoire..it's been done to death anyways. I listened to this on cheap speakers and it sounded just like the original! If you've ever seen John Waters films there's one called *pink flamingos* that's hysterical. In that there's a character called *the egg man*. Try to watch it if you're not offended easily...lots of nudity and crude stuff, but funny nonetheless. Great job on this.

Nigel, me too. I've seen just about everything and nothing offends me anymore. (Just wish I knew the bible code, then I'd be rich.) Thanks for watching!

Love this song. I really feel for the characters in your videos, esp the protagonists. I think it's because the music is so great.
-
Loved it. Can't comment on the production, but the song and words are great. You're also a fantastic back up singer, could make a living in nashville!
-
Markku you do a great job of emphasizing the overtones of those single coil pickups. Great tune!
-
Some interesting harmonies in this. piano sounds good.

Hi jeff, thanks for listening. It's VSL. Still tweaking it now and then. So tempting.

Thanks makke. Hope the winter doesn't get you down.

Glad to find a fellow feline fiend. Thanks for watching Lynn.

The cat represents wisdom of unseen things, driving in a car, looking in the rearview mirror. I suppose the cat can also represent love. Oh behave!
-
Mark, nice arrangement. Your voice is the star here. It really is a memerizing performance ala joe cocker like someone said.
-
Aren't cats the best?! Thanks watching Jesse. And thanks for the bump!

"The Serenity of Distractions" - ambient, jazz funk?
David Sprouse replied to PhonoBrainer's topic in Songs
I saw more than banking and prostitution! haha the horns vsts sounded great. I feel the solo at the end had to be incongruently loud for the effect you were going for. Great solo! -
This'd be a good theme song for Oregon Ducks...great phrasing chandler.
