[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2020.05 Early Access 1
X-53mph replied to Morten Saether's topic in Early Access Program
Hi Lucas, I cannot see the VST2 version. Did you have to rename the file or change the folder? The only version that seems to scan in the Plugins Utility is the VST3. Is there some workaround? Update: I deleted the VST3 file, rescanned plugins, and it works....however, the VST2 version is being recognized and categorized as VST3 in plugin manager. ??? -

Noel, the plot thickens. The dump path does not exist. I've tried searching for the file by name. I've tried searching for the dump folder. This part of the path exists ...user\PH\AppData But after that there is no Roaming\Cakewalk folder -

I'll send it tomorrow morning. Thanks for reaching out. -
Has anyone else had problems loading this into CbB? I keep getting an error message: I've tried repairing both the downloads, but no joy. Strangely, it works just fine in SPLAT???

I've encountered an issue with the New Spitefire Audio BBC Orchestra. When I try to load an instance in Cakewalk it crashes and I get this error message (see image) I've tried loading an instance in my old SPLAT (on the same DAW) and it opens without problems. I've rolled back to the last version of CbB, but I'm getting the same message. Should I contact Spitfire audio or is this a CbB issue? -
Hey Guys! I don't know if anyone has discussed this here on the board, but Spitfire Audio and HBO are running a scoring competition to celebrate season 3 of Westworld. If you head on over to Spitfire Audio's website you can find the link easily enough. I thought I'd share my entry with you guys on the board as it was made entirely on CbB using Spitfire LAB instruments and bundled Cakewalk instruments (Rapture, RXP, Dimension Pro). I very much doubt I will win (I've heard some of the entries and they are stunning) but it's been fun putting it together. Hope you enjoy my entry:

Ok. I tried the above workaround, and it appears to be working for now.... I'll let you know if it stops again. Thanks for all your help. ?

Thanks for the link and the help. It's not a drop in volume - all inputs from MIDI are lost after stopping the audio engine. The player becomes unresponsive. Keyboard becomes unresponsive (only on that track) and any MIDI written to the track no longer plays. The virtual keyboard on Kontakt stops moving (which wouldn't happen if it was just a drop in volume). I'm guessing no-one else has had this problem then.

I don't know if it's the same problem. Kontakt works great with everything else in CbB except with this library. ?♂️

I don't know if this is a CbB issue or Kontakt 5 or Epic Babies or all three, but... I've been trying to use Epic Babies by PulseSetter Sounds in Kontakt 5 (full addition) and everytime I stop the recording engine in CbB, I lose all sound in this particular library. The only way to get the sound back is to close the library (not Kontakt) and reopen it. But as soon as I stop the recording engine again, I lose sound. As I don't appear to have a problem with any other library, I think it may just be that particular one. Has anyone else come across this problem before?

Larry, I just wanted to thank you for posting this. I don't often get cheap or free bundles that really impress me from the get-go, but this one is a real treat.

[CLOSED] Cakewalk 2019.11 Hotfix Early Access 1
X-53mph replied to Noel Borthwick's topic in Early Access Program
Thank you for this hotfix and posting on the Facebook pages. I installed the last build and straight away had problems in playback - terrible noise, no matter the latency. This update fixed all that (whew) - no I can get back to making music. -
I tried running it - but I'm getting "Something Went Wrong - Are you connected to the internet?" (Obviously I am). Anyone else having this problem? FIXED: I had to redownload the app from Spitfire site. This repaired everything and then gave me the option to optimize my sample libraries.

Thanks David. Appreciate that!

It's been a while since I've posted anything here. So here goes... I've just released my latest full album offering. This one is a bit different from my usual vibe. It's a soundtrack to an imaginary film. No vocals, lots of piano and strings. You can here it here on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/1zami2fsWGn3KIJjuUa6n0 Of on bandcamp: https://53mph.bandcamp.com/album/requiem-for-a-lonely-planet Sorry, no Soundcloud....I've given up posting there. Enjoy and happy Halloween.

I like the sound of Randy's prepared piano. :D I used to do a similar thing with my guitar.

This may seem like a dumb question, but have you tried plugging the audio interface in with a different cable? Sometimes the USB cables break. Try subing it with a different cable. Also, try cleaning the USB connection pins. They can get dirty over time. My money is on the Windows update *****in up the drivers. Have you tried rolling back? Or clean installing the drivers?

I remember a few years back, Cakewalk worked closely with Microsoft to achieve near zero latency with WASAPI drivers. (Great job) Am I the only one who has noticed that this appears to have changed recently? It may have been the recent Windows 10 update, but I've noticed that my USB audio device is no longer appearing greyed out in the latency bar, as it used to be, and that I have to keep adjusting the latency bar up if I don't want audio to drop out. What has happened? I'm also finding that when I switch audio devices from external USB audio device, to internal drivers, I need to rescan the device to avoid audio drop outs or problems with effects loads. I never used to have to do this. Any advice welcome.

Word of warning - it's only 5,400 rpm, so if you're planning on streaming from it, I'd get something else.

ProjectSAM Swing! and Symphobia Series 50% Off at NI
X-53mph replied to Reid Rosefelt's topic in Deals
Sometimes I wonder if the answer is just to get a group of musicians together to record what you want to produce. If the price of a 'great' library is 2 grand, and you're going to use it only once or twice, would it be cheaper to hire some musicians and studio time for a day? I don't know, really. Just putting it out there. -
Thanks for the advice Feral State - I tried using some free Video Software such as HitVideo on my old laptop, but it crashed continuously and was a waste of time. Since using Vegas, I've had no problems. Thanks for the advice though.

I got the bundle last time around. Great offer, especially, if like me, you don't have any decent video editing software.

Yeah. Good idea....too late. ☹

I've been closing some of those accounts. Around a year ago, when I hoped on some of those 'oh so tempting' deals, I started getting a ton of spam mail. I know it was from one of those sites I signed up to, because it was all for American stuff - and I don't live in the US. Basically, my email had been sold on to a third party spammer, and now I get a mountain of spam every day (except for the occasional periods when they go quiet...like over the Easter holidays ???). I've got email filters galor, but it still gets through. Now when I see these 'freebie' offers, I wonder whether it's worth the spam.
