Hmm. I'm guessing they just don't want existing subscribers getting this deal. :)

Sounds like it. Maybe now there is a time limit for registering the code. The bonus one month CC+ access that I got with a purchase on audiodeluxe came with a 'This License is valid for 60 Days, make sure you register right away.' warning, so perhaps there's something similar for the one year deal. It would be nice if someone could confirm.

Just heard back from sales - apparently if you buy this the subscription will start on date of sale, and if you already have a subscription it will just create a duplicate subscription, not add to the existing one. Which means you can't register it at a later date, or add an extra year to your existing subscription. Too bad. Hopefully they'll have this sale next time my subscription expires. That's an amazing deal.

That's good to know, thanks for asking. How are they doing that in practice though? I mean, I get it if you buy it from them, but from resellers? You buy it at jrrshop and with the activation key, they send you an email saying 'please add the license quickly to your EW account or create one if needed, the subscription is LIVE' ? 😄

You always have the option of adding another year when it goes on sale again

It's more a matter of comfort for me, I guess. I have a few annual subs that I pay for even if I don't use them much over longer periods of time. I like the convenience, but that also means I chase the best deals since I assume a multi-year commitment. I would find it quite annoying, at the end of the first year, to have projects with CC+ inputs, and worry about the new subscription rate, or bouncing everything while I chase a new deal. First world problems, I know.

the sub will renew at the price at the time of renewal...not this price.
It should stack on top of your existing one month sub...but I can't verify that.

If the sub renews at the price 'at the time of renewal', it's really a sale for 1 year, not an annual subscription sale, so same as previously (also around $99 for one year) . Still a good deal, just not a wow deal 🙂

  5. This is quite tempting, I have a couple of questions though, maybe someone bought it and knows the answers:

    1. Is this renewing? It's the annual subscription? Or 1 year and done? At jrrshop they mention 'annual subscription' and there's no mention of it NOT renewing, as it was common during previous sales. It would be very tempting if it renewed at the same rate.

    2. Is there a timeframe within which it has to be activated after purchase? Or maybe someone can confirm it stacking with existing access? I bought something on Audio Deluxe and got one month of CC+ as a free bonus, so it would be good if I could just tag it onto that.

    Cheers 🍻

I remember that but it's not extra discount from LS. It's bonus coupon from some subscription service leaked and found stackable with LS's sale discount.

And it was disabled at the middle of the sale anyway.

We're in the deals section. God knows how many discounts we benefitted from here which were probably not used as planned/expected by plugin makers. Leaks, glitches, and whatnot. So I don't think that matters much. But yeah, other than that, you are right (I used to pay for that particular subscription service).

are you talking 30% on top of the coupon codes that you have from owning each of their plugins?

the specific coupon code for tai chi lite is 10%

I'm not sure it worked together with the loyalty codes. But it wasn't a loyalty code, just a generic discount code, yet worked on top of their sale prices.

I thought that was what you were referring to.  I only know of their existing coupon-stacking program.  For Tai Chi, the coupon can’t be applied for an upgrade within the same product line so it’s $70 for the upgrade, unless you have other reverbs and use their codes.  My upgrade was $54 since I have Illusion which carries a 22.5% discount in their shop.

    How do you like Illusion?

  8. Okay, good news! PA got back to me. For the activation to work you have to use PA's installers. Deskview's don't seem to work, even those posted above for the PA Edition. PA sent me links to the installers, here they are:

    Gig Performer 4

    https://files.plugin-alliance.com/products/legacy/gig_performer_4_mac_4_5_8.zip
    https://files.plugin-alliance.com/products/legacy/gig_performer_4_win_4_5_8.zip

    Gig Performer 3

    https://files.plugin-alliance.com/products/legacy/gig_performer_3_mac_3_8_1.zip
    https://files.plugin-alliance.com/products/legacy/gig_performer_3_win_3_8_1.zip

I installed GP 4 and activated it without issues.

    What about Sampletekk?

They moved to a different server. They have info about it on the site, stating the info on licenses on the previous server has not been lost. But when creating an account on the new server with my old email, I don't see any of my stuff. I emailed them (well, Per?) and no reply yet.

I’ve been trying to reinstall GigPerformer 4 Unlocked for last 2 weekends and it won’t activate. I think activation is broken. Will reach out to Plugin Alliance.

Yup, it doesn't work either online or offline. I wrote to them to ask for the download links (before antler posted them), and they were kind enough to reply with links. I wrote back to ask about the activation issues.

What's worrying in their initial reply was this: "The Gig Performer PA edition no longer exists". Baffling. However their relationship with Deskview ended, I don't get why we wouldn't be able to use (and that includes reinstall/activate if we have to) the version of the software that we bought. If that's the case, I'm done with PA for good. I was pretty lucky so far with being able to move licenses around, and now suddenly this, on top of Sampletekk (another place where your licenses just disappear into thin air).

Under their support FAQs, there's a section for PA customers. That page lists links for files hosted by PA (assumption based on the domain in the links' URLs) for their legacy version installers.

Wow, awesome, thanks so much! 🍻
Successfully installed, but can't activate it just yet, as PA's device activation/deactivation service seems to be offline. Or maybe I missed out on another glitch that everyone else knows already 😅

  11. I tried hard to keep it under control:

    - Melda's MTremoloMB and MSoundFactory LE (based on opinions here and elsewhere, though I kind of have my doubts about this one, especially if I won't be able to use the drum samples with it; I hope I'm wrong)

    - Liquidsonics Reverberate 3 (I demo-ed Tai Chi and love it, but just can't afford it right now, as I'd like the full version)

    - Tonex SE (long time coming) and a $3 so-so tone pack

    - One of the 8dio Soundpaint saxophones

    Still to come:

    - grudgingly, but I think I'll get an Ilok key; my old OS drive died and it's a hassle to recover some of the licenses (cough, Exponential Audio <- first and foremost, Air Music, Sonivox)

    - I should have waited with one of the JRR purchases to pick up the Inspirata Lite freebie, which I want; hopefully I'll find something cheap but useful to get it

    - same as above for Pluginboutique, as I want the Dawesome Love

I recall that this developer has impressive credentials,  having worked for many respected effects developers. What effects do you guys recommend checking out?

Try them out, they (well, Ray? I'm not sure anyone else is involved) have a generous demo policy - 14 days without restrictions. Personally, I think all the preamps/compressors are absolutely top-notch. The channel strip at this price is a Hornet level steal. I LOVE the F-59, I think it's a hidden gem. The spring reverb is interesting/nice with its own character. I demo-ed the plate reverb but didn't think it stood out next to the other ones I have/use (Arturia, Soundtoys, PSP).

I think it's the size. Especially with the addition of Fantasy Orchestra - which is basically an entirely new orchestra library outside of HOOPUS. I have both Musio & CC, but the East West catalog is just absolutely enormous by comparison. $150 already seems insane, considering how much content there is compared to Musio. For data / articulation / mic position comparison, Hollywood Orchestra alone is 4 times larger than the entire Musio catalog.

Yeah, valid points. But even at $10 a month they'd make a pretty penny over multiple years. Also, this $150 offer is only for the first year, I think. They had something similar last year, and it wasn't renewing at that rate.

  14. 1 hour ago, Carl Ewing said:

You can get 1 year of Musio for $90 right now (3 months free).  Or buy the entire Musio catalog for life for $300. Both the Cinesamples & East West subs are insane.

EDIT: Musio is a bit of a beta test though. Finding quite a few bugs, but it's early days.

I was actually hoping that EastWest would have a $9.99/month sale for the composer cloud, perhaps in response to Musio. I would go for that. I don't quite get why they don't do it; as opposed to most mixing/mastering plugins, I'd hate to switch between large orchestral libraries/ecosystems. There would be a strong incentive to stick with a sub for years, making it a win-win.

  15. I demo-ed this, and it was painful, as figuring out the IK multiverse often is. Activating the demo in Tonex CS you get a message that you have 30 minutes (lol) to demo the pack, but then, clicking through the individual tone models, they still come with that lovely intermittent hiss (as with demo-ing tone models one doesn't own) ?

The collection itself sounds good, though to my ears, not significantly better than some of the better (free) captures on Tone Net. Speaking of those, another IK riddle: as my OS drive died a sudden and definitive death, I had to reinstall *everything* (which was quite a crash-course into the wildly different activation/deactivation policies that companies employ). Before the tragic passing, I had 17 tone models downloaded in my Tonex CS (in the 20 available 'free' slots). Having reinstalled Tonex CS, I can't find a way to access (identify and re-download) those. The filter seems to only reflect tone models saved/downloaded locally, so if they're not available, they don't show up, even though they're counted against the limit of 20 slots. Any ideas? ?
