  1. I know in Logic you can use the Arranger to move whole section around to resequence songs. Can Sonar do that? I know it wouldn't be perfect as transitions need to be handled carefully, but it sure would help!
  2. Relief, thanks. Will check it later!
  3. There are many times when editing a clip when I cannot access the grabby thing (technical term) in the top image. I hover but it may barely flicker and I can't access it. The lower one is relatively easy. How can one get it to appear easily?
  4. Thx for taking the time to explore this, David. 1. Yes, I can't reproduce it either. It just happens. 2. I've ruled out the possibility that it could have been if I hit record with the Now Time not set to the beginning of the Loop. That seemed a good possibility as suggested earlier. But not it. 2. Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 (2nd Gen) 3. What is the UseHardwareSamplePosition? It's set to True. 4. Yes, it appears to be variable based on the length of the Punch or Loop. Can't figure that out yet.
  5. Thanks, John. Kind of you to reply given you've left Sonar for greener pastures! Not sure anyone else seeing the post has tried the process. For me, punching is a much cleaner, faster approach that minimizes editing later on. No effects are being used at all. Just raw recording through my Focusrite Scarlett.
  6. Is it possible that that is the reason that it does in sporadically?
  7. Well, it's in my paid version of Sonar and very flow-breaking, for sure.
  8. This happened again. I've taken a snapshot of the screen with the control bar to see if that offers any info. Please see the attached note in the image. 1. Loop was set, then punch record was set within the boundaries of the loop. 2. Made sure the NOW time was set to the beginning of the loop 3. Looped 6 times (6 takes) 4. But instead of the vocal sitting where it was sung, SONAR has again offset the vocal. A. The beginning of the vocal is cut off B. The vocal in the clip should sit later in the clip than it does NOTE: I have been using this exact same process flawlessly all day... until SONAR killed a good take just now. 😭 There are situations when punching is easier in my workflow. I do often just loop record, but when there are lots of clips around where I'm recording, it's irritating to keep having the clips disabled by the new recording. Thus, punching suits the situation. Staff confirmed that having both loop and punch enabled should work No tempo changes Now time is always at the beginning of the loop prior to hitting record No metronome count-in being used
  9. No tempo changes, but thanks for responding!
  10. Thx, David. Not using a count in. The tracks have the drummer counting us in over his Room Mic.
  11. Thank you. Yes, I always press W prior to R... AND, if I didn't, the playback in my headphones would be playing in the middle of the section and I'd definitely know it so I would stop and hit W. So I don't see how this will ultimately be the issue. Good input though. I would do the screen recording but the issue "appears to be" random. I can't make it happen. But if there is a next time, I'll do a full screenshot. Thanks!
  12. If that's the case, then how does one do punch comp recording with enough lead in to best time when to come in... without recording on top of the existing track?
  13. Thx, Wookie. I set the punch in / out because I want the loop to play a wider range than I'm recording to give me runway to be ready. That shouldn't cause this issue, should it?
  14. Thx, Greg. That is exactly what I'm doing!
  15. In my project, I set my loop, then within the loop, I set the record punch section. Record. Works fine. Then, without touching any settings, I hit record again, but this time, my recorded tracks are offset 7 measures forward, which results in the recording being misaligned, and 7 measures not recording. This is a persistent bug which has f'd up several great takes. Been using Sonar since day 1 and this has been happening ever since I "upgraded" from the free legacy Cakewalk to Sonar. Help?
  16. 2. Well, the way I had to sort it out was to create an audio folder in the saved as project, then move all of the audio tracks to the new project. But the issue now is that the project still thinks it's supposed to add newly created audio to the old file's audio folder. I need to change that. Image shows what is set when I click Project, Audio Files. How to change this?
  17. Goals: 1. When I create a new project, I want all recorded audio to be in that project's Audio folder, and the pictures in the Picture folder. Per Project. What's the setting and where? 2. I "Saved As" a project because I liked the settings. But the new "saved as" project put the new project's recorded audio in the old project's audio folder. How do I change the new project's audio folder to reside in its own project? 3. So that I don't keep having to Save As... how do I save an existing project, with plugins open, but no audio/midi tracks included, to a template to use on the regular? Thanks! Chamlin
  18. Installing Sonar on Win 10 Pro system with existing Cakewalk installation. Selected "Advanced". But when I get to the options for drives to install, only the C drive is offered, and the drop down doesn't do anything. Location is greyed out. Want program on the C drive, but projects, audio files on my dedicated Cakewalk drive. Help?
  19. Will a first time installation of the new Sonar be able to port over templates, settings from my current existing CWBL? Or will I have to set the whole thing up again?
  20. Oh no! John, are these no longer available? They were so helpful! ❤️
  21. Thanks for the voice compliment, Mark. It's one reason I want to get those damn teeth whistles out. You're right, it's not normal De-essing. It's more having a hawk screech coming out of my mouth...too often. Those options for fixing make sense. Beyond my ability and time frame at this point. But it helps clarify what's needed. I'll have to go on upwork to find someone brave enough to tackle it! ?
  22. Apologies for how very basic this question is. Have been a way from music for a while. 1. Can't remember how to adjust volume on a specific phrase or word of a vocal. Is the only way to select the clip, choose clip automation and use the map thing to draw it down? Thought there was another way. 2. Does Cakewalk have a built in de-esser? Is it usable? Is there a tutorial for it? Have some terribly nasty piercing esses in a talk I just did. Well, 45 tracks of around 10 minutes each. With sibilance throughout. Help? Or anyone here good at it and need some work? Sibilance Example - MySSSSelf.mp3
  23. Thanks so much for this treasure trove!!!
