I'm aware of all of this. However, OP made it clear he was trying to wipe his drive. That's a safe assumption since he deleted his partitions. No one does that to re-install one program.
-
A "clean install" on a drive with existing data usually involves a FORMAT at some stage. That is the function that "writes over" your data. You clearly skipped that option when installing Win 11, so yes, there will be remnants of your old programs. Alternatively, you could have done into Disk Management, and formatted each partition before deleting them, thus starting with a clean slate.

I'm on my newly built PC (First booted up 2 days ago), clicked on the above link, but there's a big white space underneath SIGNAL FLOW and then wording starts down the page with "You control the mixing and playback of an audio track as follows:". (This happens on both Firefox and Chrome). Am I right in assuming there's a diagram in the middle that is not visible on my screen? If so, any ideas how to fix this? (I downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card: GTX 1070). TIA

Just to be clear, are you saying the PC powers on all by itself? If that's the case, then that's a HW-power issue (likely the power supply). Nothing to do with software (Well, 99.9% likelihood it's not software. There is such a thing as malware that can power on a PC, but it's extremely rare).

Serious problems with new computer, evo 4 audio card and cakewalk.
JonD replied to giant ll's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Try a different USB port (You're not still connected on the hub, are you?) Also, USB can sleep as well. As suggested earlier, change to High Performance, and to play it safe, go to Advanced and DISABLE all SLEEP settings (Change to NEVER). -
Hi Frank, The only other thing I can think of to try is to connect to a different USB port. The V-studio 100 is a USB2 device. If your PC is less than say, a decade old, it's probably got only (or mostly) USB3 ports. USB3 are supposed to be backwards-compatible, but not all USB3 controllers are made equal. Consequently, some handle USB2 just fine, while others are glitchy or flat out don't work (with USB2). if you've been trying to connect to the same USB port all along and there's a software corruption, it won't clear until you clean up the corrupted code -- which I don't recommend if you're not comfortable with going into the registry, etc. A workaround is to just try a different USB port. Best to connect to a USB2 port if you have any. On older PCs ,USB2 ports were designated in black while USB3 in blue. This is not so much the case anymore. If you can't locate any USB2 ports, then just try different USB3 ports. Good luck.

If it were me. I'd reinstall the v-Studio software (With the V-Studio 100 disconnected, install the latest Windows driver/software for it. Reboot your system. Connect the V-Studio 100 and then power it on). On a side note, I'm confused by this comment: "... perhaps I should just keep using this older 2009 piece of equipment even though it has a lower sample rate of 96KHZ while the Presonus Studio 24C is 24-bit/192KHZ." Are you saying that you record at 192KHZ? If not, the top sample rate of 192khz is entirely irrelevant. If you are, then I have to ask.... WHY?

Sign up at the Mixxin Academy site and all their courses are FREE. I just tried it, and can access every course freely on their website. No need to go through Udemy, which charges $14-15 (sale price) per course -- unless you want to spend money unnecessarily! Yes, Mixxin Academy really are offering their audio production training program for free (In the FAQ section they explain why they're giving it away).

Great if you want to get your feet wet with T-Racks. Just be aware that this is the "basic"version with 19 plugins. The T-Racks Max 6 with 61 plugins is also on sale at $80 (with NAMMSLAM2025 code).

At that price, it's a tempting offer! Anyone know if use of Jam Points is allowed?

So I am not allowed to STOP CW advertisements?
JonD replied to Pathfinder's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
You're quoting him as if he's the OP. He's not (unless he recently changed his name). Also, if you noticed, at least two other users are claiming the opposite of what he's saying is true. Bottom line, OP just seems to be ranting - and that's fine, I'm not judging - but he hasn't told us himself which version of Sonar he's using. Like I pointed out before, this is the CbB sub-forum, so one would assume that is what he's talking about. Quoting other users does nothing to help or further OP's situation... -
Issues with Cakewalk and USB UAD Twin mk I
JonD replied to Cristiano Sadun's topic in Cakewalk Sonar
Not all USB ports are the same. They have different speeds, hubs, controllers -- using different hardware and software (as strange as that may seem). It if's currently on a USB3 port (inner blue strip), I'd switch to a USB2 (black strip). If that doesn't work just try other ports... -
So I am not allowed to STOP CW advertisements?
JonD replied to Pathfinder's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
Well, it would, wouldn't it? They're two different programs. What's the point of staying on CbB (and dealing with "nag" screens") if he's subscribed to the paid-for New Sonar? Or has he subscribed? OP doesn't say that he has, and since this is the CbB subforum, one would assume that's what he's talking about. It only got confusing when others chimed in, saying it's New Sonar.... Maybe OP subscribed, but kept CbB installed, which is why he's still seeing the banner. But that's just me speculating wildly, since that's mostly what we do here. 😉 -
Well, shoot. I can't recreate my steps because it now recognizes me as a Bandlab member. Even if I try using a different email account, it wants me to join the membership first before I can continue. If it helps, I used the Firefox browser, and started the transaction at the New Sonar Webpage, then clicked on the discount banner at the top of the page. I'm pretty sure the screenshot you gave (with the $149.50 amount) showed me $71, and then I went to Paypal from there. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck.
