Loved the Lilt!! Does the fiddle have any setting where you could bring on a bit more vibrato as the note sustains? I too have found it amazing that Strummed Acoustic has such a paucity of 3/4. Makes no sense whatsoever. The mix works well here. Maybe an option would be to give it an ending that isn't a fadeout, like you'd hear in a pub! Congrats on a fine tune. cheers, -Tom

    Hurray

I like the sardonic "hurray!" And whatever that quickly slap backing perussivevthing is on the two and four. Amazing vocal effects. The hurray is given a bit of telephone eq, which sits well in the track to my ears. Perhaps you might try ducking a little more low eq away from the verse vocals, to get a bit less masking down there? 400Hz maybe? I thought it a very quality and enjoyable listen.
  3. So good I listened twice. For me, she could recite a bit slower from the passage. It's a real speed up when the vibe of the drone elements suggest relaxation. If you did slow her words down and perhaps add a dash more reverb to them, then the overall piece would be longer? Which I for one would like! Very spot on for a good chill, thanks for sharing it! cheers, -Tom
  4. I expected to hear poignant lyrics, heartfelt vocals, a tight mix, an arrangement that holds and piques interest. And that's exactly what I got. Plus an engaging, non-stupid video to match. Very very nice! I wish you so much good luck and patience in your continuing situation. Thank you for creating music in your spare moments and sharing it with us! cheers, -Tom
  5. OK very cool lyrics and an unconventional song structure which was very catchy once I caught on to it! Very original all the way around, like maybe Nik Kershaw wrote a Steely Dan tune. If you don't like the Dan or Nik Kershaw, or see no potential for overlap, then please disregard that last comment 😄 the lyrics meet the music, and there are spots where the words are just a bit masked enough to make you guess. Very good tune! Time not wasted! cheers, -Tom
  6. I listened to the video version, I like the track, its a great jammy lights out jazz thing, and very expressive, particularly the excellent flute playing! Mix-wise, to my taste its a bit clinical and dry sounding, as if it is all close mic'd. I was wanting a bit more room sound, something medium and wood panelled, particularly with that nice fretless bass tone. But that of course is just personal preference, isn't it? Might be worth experimenting with, or not. Anyway, good one, brought me back to 1987! See you at the bar! -Tom

Your tunes are great and well mixed. In this one, I listened on a pretty decent Bluetooth speaker that I know well. I wonder if your bass isn't just a bit overcooked? It was on the edge of distortion on my setup. Might be worth a check? As I've liked all your tunes and mixes before, I assume you checked this mix on different systems, but just thought Id share what I was hearing on . . .
  8. Nice, those harmonies sound . . . perfect! Not a semiquaver off. Amazing! I found myself adding a vocal "cha-cha-cha!" to the end of the fours, it fit perfectly! nice tune, it brought to me a willing suspension of disbelief, because anyone married in a home for a length of time really don't get on like that or do they??? The chorus is as catchy as a bra latch. What does the missus think?
  9. Now, that is truly some kind of amazing coincidence.
  10. I will never use AI in the creation of music or lyrics. Opinions vary, but in my view, computer assisted = computer enabled. The creation of music and words in a cohesive song is not only something that marks us as human, but also more importantly, something that makes us unique and distinct from our fellow humans. Isn't that kind of sacred? Plus it's an awkward songwriting credit: "Lennon/McCartney/Hewlett-Packard "
  11. Nothing but shame, and Cherry audio Trident $57 Vi labs Model D, $159 UA waterfall organ, Leslie, and 1176 compressor bundled for $49 Neural Dsp Morgan, 49 euro and Matteo, 59 euro But I received and spent time reading a million emails, and spent many many hours pouring over and analyzing different third party vendors, all so I could save about $300. So not too shabby I suppose.
  12. Because I had JUST popped $159 for Model D EDIT, I now realize I bought the VI Labs Model D which plays in the UVI player.
