I've always wondered how many tracks you could get on the console with the monitor flipped 90 degrees?

I have never heard of any problems using Waveform Preview in Cakewalk. This feature offers up a visible approximation of the sound waves in a track while you're recording. I don't think that is something you would need or want. Maybe they mean when using Caketalking and Waveform Preview together. I think John Vere may be referring to a recording software called Waveform. This is the first I've heard of it, but it does exist.

I have the Fender Mustang I and it's capable of interfacing with a computer via USB, BUT (notice that's a big but), it uses its own driver, which means you won't be able to use an audio interface with ASIO drivers and the Mustang at the same time. Another driver mode could cause timing issues, intolerable latency and possibly other problems. You would have to try it with another driver mode, such as WASAPI or the older WDM/KS. WASAPI would probably give the best result here, if the Mustang can operate with it. The best use of the Fender USB interface I can see is for downloading new and different patches created by other Mustang users from the internet. I didn't purchase my Mustang for the ability to interface with a computer. I bought mine 4-5 years ago and perhaps things have changed since then. Good luck!

Create an FX Chain and put that in any track's bin. I don't know all the ins and outs of this method, but I quickly made a chain in an audio track with 5 effects, saved it as an FX Chain then inserted that FX Chain Preset in several different audio tracks.

Are you aware that "those guys" are not the same company we have now?

If you're using soft synths, many have the ability to pass the data on. When inserting the synth, ensure that Enable MIDI Output is checked.

And they're still there after you close and reopen Cakewalk? The images you posted have nothing to do with 'sound'. MIDI data has to be played by a synthesizer of some sort in order to be heard. That synthesizer has to be played through speakers or headphones. If you're using a software synthesizer in Cakewalk, ensure the MIDI track's output is set to the synth's input. Then make sure the synth's output is set to the sound card or audio interface the speaker or headphones are connected to. What are your track's outputs set to? What are your synth's outputs set to? Can you post screenshots of your Audio Preferences?

In Preferences, see if unchecking the Show Notifications box works. Don't forget to click 'Apply' at the bottom.

Probably CbB, since there are no previous versions of Cakewalk Sonar. Sonar has been updated a couple of times? I don't have Sonar. In any case, using the latest CbB, I could start/stop MIDI projects, MIDI/audio projects and all-audio projects with the space bar. None of these songs had VST effects or VST instruments. Windows 10. What happens if you press the space bar and wait a few seconds (or more)?

So, you're talking about Cakewalk by Bandlab (CbB, Cakewalk), not Cakewalk Sonar (Sonar), the forum you're in?

Personal preference is to bounce everything to audio when I'm done, save it with a new name in a couple place so I never again have to worry about anything getting screwed up, The problem I encounter is knowing when it's finished. 😒

Of course, and with JAWS off, you wouldn't be able to read the task manager. A conundrum, for sure. Someone would have to help.

Frankly, I think WASAPI will give you better performance than any generic ASIO driver.

Meaning they can do things I want them to do, do things I don't want them to do, and I don't know how or why either way. Smiley face. I don't know how JAWS works; is it running at all times on your machine? To unload it from memory, I think you just close it normally and then open the Task Manager to ensure that it is off. I understand that there may be problems for you doing that. I think you're pretty smart, though, and can figure it out. I only know how to do it with the cursor.
