I just got naturalized, so I get to say it as an American for the first time: Happy 4th y'all!
Welcome to the tumult!
Seriously, congratulations. I think you will be a great asset to this nation.

Saw Mott the Hoople opening for Grand Funk in Germany in 1971. Didn't know who the Hoop were but enjoyed their show.
Liked Bad Company, too, and some of their songs were fun to play at our shows.

When opening CbB I get a message about the special deal for Sonar. While it is a deal, I can't justify adding another monthly payment to my budget. Anyone who has ever heard my music knows I use almost none of the extras included in any Cakewalk program. I record, do a little mixing and that's it.
And SONAR Home Studio 6 is still working well.
But for those who go far beyond just recording, I say go for it. -
I like it!

Most people here are using a Cakewalk program. Cakewalk programs only work on Windows, ergo he's using Windows.

Been down a Molly Tuttle rabbit hole today...an apt analogy since I started this morning with her band's imaginative rendition of White Rabbit. You don't even have to like Bluegrass to appreciate the musicianship and creativity of this band.
There was this bluegrass thing going on in Raleigh last year and my cousin Kim came all the way from Charleston, SC just to see her.

To me, Beethoven's Late Strings Quartets are one of mankind's highest achievements. The Brentano String Quartet recorded them on 3 CDs, and those are my personal favorite recordings - probably the best that I know of (I'm not a connoisseur by any stretch). No 12 is the very first I heard.
Coincidentally, I just watched a movie last week called "The Late Quartet". Released in '12, I'd never seen it. I enjoyed it and they talk about Beethoven quite a bit.
Christopher Walken, P. S. Hoffman, Catherine Keener. Good flick, a little soap in it, but that's okay.

They're colluding with the power companies to get the stereo users to crank it up and use more electricity and raise their electric bills.

I got this pop up about cakewalk needing to reactivated. and each time i've gotten this pop up i've just logged back in and its solved my issue every time. But this time i got another pop up saying that refreshing it was unsuccesful. ive tried logging in and out multiple times but it doesnt seem to work. anyone know how to fix this? do i need to download a new updated version or ... ?
If you have an older version, it can no longer be activated/refreshed. If you have the latest program, it's a cinch.

Right. Open Cakewalk's Preferences (P) and see what the Playback Timing Master is and what other options it has and change it to the one that worked. Then open that project again and make sure the correct outputs are chosen, play it to see if it works and then resave it.

And you've never had this kind of problem in 36 years?

i like this way also,. i have yet to get back from my travel and try it. i should be back soon.
the other part of my question was when you add a synth track (or instrument) what will that do? does it detect the key of the song and "play along" or do i need to go through every measure and add chords or notes? in this case bass notes that are say an octave or maybe 2 lower than the key of the song,
will this be in the instrument track options once i get in there? like setting the octave of the instrument and if it doesn't autodetect the key choosing the Key of the song?
tia
No, most Cakewalk programs are recording apps which require input from the musician. By "instrument", they mean a software synthesizer which will play the MIDI note data you recorded, wrote or imported.

I'm using standard Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones.
Welcome to the forum.
I don't have these headphones. What audio interface are you connecting them to? Or are you plugging them directly into the computer sound card or with a USB cord? -

What does your version use for Offset Mode?
I vaguely remember the discussions about O and how it tripped up a few folks and was removed, as noted above. I don't think a mistaken press of the O would affect anything now for me since more actions are required to get Audition to work, like selecting tracks and dragging the timeline.

For me, dragging the time ruler creates a "selection" and hitting V opens the Video pane.
Once a clip or section is selected, Shift+L sets it to loop. L turns Loop on/off. Spacebar for play/stop.
You're right. Somewhere in my search and my ignorance I bound V to audition. Having discovered that, I undid it, but it seems like such a useful thing that I bound it to O, an unused shortcut key. Now the V brings up the Video view as normal.
Sorry for the hijack, TBoog.

Im using CbB. Everytime I make an edit, I often just want to jump back a few seconds and hit play. However, the only way I know to do this is to scroll back which takes extra time and movements or to hit my shortcut key to the previous marker which of course is usually in a spot that's too far away or too close. Is there any way to set a keyboard shortcut that can take me back a few seconds? The constant scrolling is so annoying. Thanks
In trying to find a way to do this, I discovered that if I select a track, drag across the timeline where what I want to hear is located, that creates a loop. Hitting the V key plays that loop continuously. Hitting the V key again while the loop is playing turns it off.
You can choose 1 track or select many different tracks and it will play them.-

We went to Florida for my brother's birthday and we're the ones that received gifts.
He bought 3 of these at a yard sale for $60. Gave them all away.
