midi MIDI Input devices are changed when project load
Eve Ripper replied to TakMi's topic in Feedback Loop
I would like to do not have this mess. In case when you're driving with your laptop and leaving midi devices at home, it would be good to just leave settings as they were. -
Hi there. AIR Music has Transfuser 2 which was used in Pro Tools to slice beats, make drum samples, etc. Transfuser 2 I've got it on Plugin Boutique and still using it in my DAWs. I would like also to share my TouchOSC layout for it. I'll be doing some update soon. I've set drum pads (MIDI ch. 10) with 3 rotaries, 6 smart knobs and main section with Master Pitch and Master Volume. Layout link: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Au2bDwwlo47ogpF768qzbvhJoK9vEw

I think it is right to be happy with one DAW)
-
That is what I say) Session drummer is limited.
-
Session drummer lacks simple sample load. If you’re using multisamples, layering that thing is not good in that way.
-
Reaper, which is a “free” daw also has very very very limited sampler. I think we don’t need thing like that. We have a great step sequencer which I really like but there’s no built in instrument to really use it. I really like to watch Future music beat makers, which are making beats fast in Ableton Live without Battery or other third party sampler. Well, there’s still a hope...

Ok, thanks. It’s time to change laptop.
-
We’ve been discussing it. Would be good to remove these drum maps and add custom maps.

Sometimes it really frustrates when starting a project gets me into hanging DAW. Today I’ve got this thing after just dragging my drum stem in project. Sometimes it hangs after recording few takes. My laptop is https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05186952 my audio interface is Roland Duo Capture Ex UA22. is there something I can do to save my work?

The Great Shutdown - What have we learned?
Eve Ripper replied to mumpfucious's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
One year has passed. I've tried Reaper, Studio One. I really like Composer things that came with Studio One 4 (pattern sequncer, new samplers). It's a great thing to start track in computer, compose it on the go. I can't say it about Reaper. It has stablitiy that I can't get from another DAW. But it lacks many musical features to start track and finish composing it. Sonar was a tool for a composer. Nowadays it lacks some plugins to do real composing. We rely on third-party plugins. But I hope we need just some time. Few days ago I was rehearsing with a bandmate and decided to record his keyboard. Cakewalk crashed 4 times, computer needed to be rebooted because of zombie-process "Cakewalk.exe" in system tray. -
I do not agree. Modern DAWs (Ableton, Bitwig, Reason, Studio One)which are made for electronic music contain these tools to give simple tools to write beats, slice loops. Of course third party should concentrate more on their products and be kings of synthesizers, sample libraries, etc. But things like basic synth, drum sampler are default things for a modern musician.

Up. Adding "Fold" button (see only used by Sampler notes) is a time saver in PRV.
-
Fixed. New version of sampler is on CWITEC site.
-
Session drummer is the most modern solution. I’ve got it from my previous Sonar edition. But still would like to see modern mpc like sampler in Cakewalk.
-
I’ve got last version of TX16WX. But installed it after installing new version of Cakewalk (in which this mess happened).

https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=502185 Found this thread. The Same problem.

Hi there. After updating Cakewalk and few days ago TX16WX sampler I’ve got a new problem. When I choose to set one sound (Kick) to out 1 and then take another sound (snare) to out 2 there’s no sound happening on out 2 and others. I’ve routed it in Cakewalk with audio track. Checked this in Reaper. Everything is fine.
-
I would practice alot. Also I would record in loop mode to choose good takes. Audiosnap is your friend to check transients and move some.
-
Is there any way to route audio input to vsti? I want to use sampler features. Like I would like to resample my drum machine and fast enough add sound to sampler. I know there’s no support of this function (I think only Reaper can do this kind of routing). But is there another way?

Few years ago we had a Scratchpad and we had mobile version of Z3TA. I think i't s to time to get them back on market. Also I want something simple to control Cakewalk with iPad. I can use TouchOSC, but it's hard for me to set it up. I would like to use its features to control Step Sequencer, drum pads, etc) Presonus has Studio One Remote. Ableton Live has few controllers.
-
I see another exit is to add “Fold” button. In Ableton Live we have a drum rack which adds sampler on some notes. So we have 36 with bass drum and 38 with a Snare. Then we’ve left 37 untouched with no sample on this pad. After opening piano roll in Live we can press Fold and all pads with no samples are gone and we can only see pads and notes which we’ll be using. Also, renaming notes in Reaper is very easy and fast. Would like to see the same things in Cakewalk.
-
It would be useful as a scene mode in Ableton Live.

I think we really need new sampler to use it in Cakewalk. In world of free software I really like TX16WX which can be used not as a sample player but really as a sampler. https://www.tx16wx.com/ - link to TX16WX. This is a great free sampler which main task is to make samples, not to work with libraries, etc. It can be used with everything. I use it nowadays for drums which I like to play on midi pads at home. We had Session Drummer which really needs to be updated. I think modern music needs samplers with MPC workflow. On other hand we have Addictive Drums/Session Drummer for those who need real acoustic drums. We also had old plugins for this task. But nowadays do we really need to buy NI Battery? S1 users have a great Impact Drum Module and Ableton Live users can use Drum rack or Impulse drum sampler. I think Cakewalk needs its own thing to use.

I really like to record my bass through Sansamp. SOS article is great. But seriously I think question is bigger. There are many features that you can do with DI bass. You can blend distortion + clean, add ampsim, add hardware compression, etc. Be patient, read an article, then practice.
