My experience is that it is possible to open all projects that I have created in CbB in the new Cakewalk Sonar without any changes (...) or delays.
The only point regarding your questions that I cannot answer with yes is whether CbB can be uninstalled safely, i.e., without losing settings, etc.
For me, Cakewalk Sonar immediately adopted all of my settings, such as audio settings, drivers, buffer size etc.
I purchased and installed Sonar a few days ago,
so I'm not sure, but Templates, Themes etc. probably not.

You could, for instance, use the MSED as an encoder first, followed by an equalizer or other effect,
and then that Msed as a decoder if you want to change the mid-side characteristics of a track.4
Try that on a bus and mix it with the original track etc.
