https://varietyofsound.wordpress.com/blog/ At a Glance FerricTDS was designed to capture the unmistakable warm yet powerful sound of classic tape compression in all its facets and detail, and to take it a step further. Combining state-of-the-art technology with a loving nod to the great classic tape machines, FerricTDS mkIII captures the magical essence of days gone by and takes it to a new, unique level. The update is tuned to deliver a wide spectrum of profound bass tones, confident mids, and elegant highs. You can add subtle warmth or brilliance to the sound or make dramatic changes to the overtone structure while creating musical-sounding distortions. Applications signal balancing and gluing tonal shaping and harmonic excitation controlling peak performance increasing perceived loudness levels Changes to Previous Versions The mkIII redesign updates key areas to modern signal-processing standards and improves overall usability. The most visible change is the new toolbar with an integrated preset manager and A/B control. SC filtering now sits within a general color control, and plug-in calibration is easier thanks to a headroom control on the toolbar. In mkIII, limiting is always active whenever levels exceed a set threshold, and adjusting the limiter makes the transfer curve more linear at lower levels, giving the circuit a soft-clipper character. To complete the tape simulation, signal coloration now adds pre-emphasis-driven high-frequency compression, plus a new wow & flutter feature. An authentic transformer circuit is also included.

I'm really sorry for my snarky comments on this forum. I just typed them in without even considering that the developer would read them and of course it must feel awful that all your hard labor gets disrespected like that. I sincerely apologize. As I said in the email I think the sound of the synth is remarkable. I just donated a few bucks. Thanks for the update!

Each plugin is also $38 separately, for some reason. Insane value IMO. https://purafied.com/products/the-everything-bundle

I just bought DV Brit 84 (Neve 1084 emulation) from Three Body Tech (Makers of Kirchoff EQ). Their Deep Vintage series is based on ML captures of real gear, just like Tone Empire and Acustica Audio, but it does so at a WAY lower CPU cost, and I would argue more convincingly too. It sounds phenomenal. They have some audio demos of the plugins compared to their hardware counterparts on their site. It's not 100% there yet, but it's better than almost anything else. They're having a sale right now: https://www.threebodytech.com/en/products/deepvintage

Don't sleep on this, guys. I wrote in KVR: This thing is seriously impressive and flies under radar, so I thought it deserved its own thread. it's basically a clone of the Fabfilter compressor. Sounds great and uses very little CPU, even in 8x oversampling. About ZL Compressor is a dynamic range compressor with the following key features: Intuitive GUI feedback: Real-time Peak & RMS display; Hardware-accelerated rendering. Optimized CPU usage: Efficient lookahead & up to 8x over-sampling. Versatile Compressor Settings: Four compression styles & Extensive compression parameters; Post compression clipper. Advanced Side-chain Control: 8-band parametric equalizer; Stereo mode & link control. Top Panel

Plugin Boutique - 80% off of Three-Body Technology Kirchhoff-EQ
Esteban Villanova replied to fjz's topic in Deals
Agree with your assessment. TB eq's have weird phase response in the high frequencies. It looks like it has a very steep low pass filter at nyquist or something. Kirchoof sounds better, but GUI is kind of meh. Can't have it all, it seems. -
Yeah, I get the same impression with REAPER devs, who don't use MIDI themselves... (Justin just records audio).

these are for their player plugin, which is separate from the "main" BFD 3 plugin.

Had some back and forth with the dev. He got very offended because I said lack of presets makes it useless. I apologized and explained why they matter and he seemed open to the idea afterwards. He doesn't seem to be very experienced in production in general.
