Normally I would jump on these lovely UVI synths, like I did on their U1250 (Kurzweil) last month. But my thinking weirdly changed. Of course, Arturia has synth models, while UVI does sample based, which would normally tilt in favor of the former. But the latter (UVI) remains pretty interesting for those synths that were sample (rom) based themselves originally, like the Kurzweil 250. So I'll continue getting those from UVI, as they perfectly sample the original samples. So I'll be closely watching Audiodeluxe for sales on the UVI rom-synth remakes in particular.

TBH, two of the best plug-in bundles around, especially on sale, are Arturia’s V Collection and FX Collection. Sheer sources of joy.

Worse even, still not Apple Silicon native. I’m this close to writing them. Wut, wut, I just did. Luckily I didn’t jump for those sample based REs, but I did get 11 Suite (and 12) , which brought me some wonderful synths/instruments like Scenic, Algoritm, and particularly Friktion.

I’m thinking I should just go ahead with my stock Apple, Bitwig and Reason plugins plus FabFilter and Apogee or Slate for exacting emulations, then add only special ones like SoundTheory Gullfoss, Arturia Dist Coldfire and Fragments, Eventide Physion and Split EQ, or Wavesfactory TrackSpacer and Spectre.

Same here, FabFilter Saturn 2. And, if push comes to shove, I like tinkering with that marvelous Arturia Dist Coldfire.
