  1. I think the method you've outlined is the best and I use it regularly - hopefully the advice you've got in the other thread will mean you can overcome instruments not working There are just certain things to watch out for but once you've done it a few times it gets quicker and easier
  2. I've not encountered any where the guitar wouldn't play but often there is a lot of unneeded/messy midi data. I usually import onto a blank track that isn't routed anywhere and then gradually copy sections over to the live VST track, removing things as I go. It just helps me keep track of what I'm doing as often if I'm doing a cover I'll bounce between things.
  3. Have you tried changing the buffer size? There's also a midi playback parameter worth increasing. When you export have you tried using the real-time playback method/changing rate? Does it happen if all other instruments are muted? What's your system load like? Any dropouts/overruns being displayed? Are all your inputs routed correctly? Does the note have correct velocity? Have you tried deleting/re-adding the note (seems silly but I've had to do that before now) Happy if you want to send me the project to see if I get the same result - I don't have EastWest currently installed but if you say it's reproducible on other VST's then should be fairly easy to spot.
  4. Is the Musio file installed in Common Files\VST3? If so Cakewalk should pick this directory up. Go to Preferences - File - VST Settings and then press "scan" and then it should become available via the insert - soft synth list.
  5. I've raised a case as my bandmate has just confirmed he's seen this before. If anyone else has seen it can confirm and add a screenshot that would also be super useful evidence as I still haven't been able to reproduce today. I'm not sure what the mechanism is behind the waveform being generated. I know there's the cache that you can delete files in to re-generate but in this case they're getting corrupted when they're first made rather than it being a gradual issue over time.
  6. Only just discovered this thread and I'm really excited to try this out as I have use case for midiFX at the moment! Thanks for creating this
  7. If you route that content to a different VST, does that also fail to play the note?
  8. Yes this is common behaviour for all the cached content to be released over time. 15 seconds is about reasonable in my experience for how long it would take to release that much content. It would appear your Musio bug has been resolved, so I'd say this is now functioning in line with expectations
  9. Can you give an example of what the tooltips are so I can confirm I'm checking the right thing?
  10. Trying to get a screenshot of this but as is typical it's not doing it currently! Has anyone experienced the issue whereby an audio track appears to have content at point but it's silent? Often this will look like a single spike. When I've encountered this it's been a UI thing and there isn't legitimately content there - I most often see it when importing audio tracks and on one track the vocalist will have recorded the first verse for example and then it's visible in a section that's unrelated (e.g. much later in the song). It does lead to some confusion though because you've sometimes got to go digging to check, and/or risk deleting something that might be relevant. I've seen this a load of times over the years in Cakewalk/Sonar in different projects but don't believe I've raised it before (others might have).
  11. I'm running on multiple machines and as far as i'm aware it's unlimited
  12. Feel free to drop me a copy of the project - I have a Scarlett 18i20 and can see if I can reproduce, as that's very likely the same driver version. I'd echo what people have said about likely being specific plugins / audio drivers - I think i've only seen this once in my 5+ years of using Cakewalk.
  13. Thanks buddy! Really appreciate your feedback Think dance metal has a better ring to it! Our album is out on Friday and the rest of it is very different so I don't think that title will stick overall, but I'm sure we'll end up doing some more stuff in this realm one day. Is that the thing that helps vocalists? We haven't done any gigs yet but will definitely keep that in mind for if we do - I'm sure some stamina will be needed to perform these regularly
  14. Fine but then my personal vocal parts in this track are very minor Thanks for listening and your feedback buddy!
  15. Greetings friends! I trust we're all having a good new year My musical project Disconnected Souls have dropped our 2nd music video in support of our upcoming album on the 19th of January. This track is definitely one of our heavier ones but there's lots of electronics and other quirky elements to it also. As always Cakewalk is what makes it all happen ❤️ If you get chance to check it out then I hope you enjoy! Best wishes, ~Fletch~
  16. Thanks for the kind words Jack! Really appreciate you listening to it
  17. Hi guys, My eclectic musical ensemble Disconnected Souls has recently released a new track called Fragments: This is a lot less heavy than our other material and I was keen to really have some pop catchiness, despite a lot of other weirdness (bird samples, choir vocals, 5/4 section). If you get chance to listen than I hope you enjoy! Feedback always welcome. Best wishes, Matthew
  18. Thanks for the feedback Paul! Very much appreciated
  19. Thanks buddy! Will definitely keep the vocal comments in mind with subsequent releases We intentionally left the story to be quite open in the video as there wasn't a huge amount of timescale to explain it, especially with having some focus on the band also; we didn't want to be 100% theatrical performance or 100% band playthrough, so went with a hybrid approach. The rough theme was that I/Patrick were a father/son who didn't get along for various reasons and he felt the call of the sea and a longing to leave his life behind. Except the call of the sea was three murderous sirens.. The song title is a reference to a spell in Dungeons and Dragons (which we all play regularly) and has a similar theme around hearing voices luring people to do things. I was very worried about the presence of the general public! Particularly as I'm a bit of a social recluse. This was why I chose to do it on a Sunday out of season, in the hope that not too many people would be around. Unfortunately it was a beautiful day and there were loads! However people were very complimentary and we ended up with a lot of people taking photos and asking questions. We were eventually asked by a nice member of the council to move on from the area due to not having appropriate permissions, but fortunately at that point we'd mostly finished and he kindly gave us another 5 minutes Best wishes, Matthew
  20. Thank you so much! Glad you like it It was filmed in Llandudno, UK on the West Shore and Great Orme
  21. Thank you very much for your kind words! I really appreciate it.
