  1. Same here. I'm starting to remove stuff based on strange eco systems. I could see UAD Connect if you have their interfaces. But there is no shortage of reinventing the wheel and those wise enough to rely in a DAWs included plugins.
  2. Most large external drives are 5400 rpm. Not sure what is backed up to take that much time. I would imagine it would if it were all of my drives with sample libraries. I never back those up on a schedule. The only time they are backed up is after buying them so I don't have to download them again. I've got a large collection of HDDs since upgrading to SSDs. I'm not a fan of these apps that after downloading the installation files are deleted. Some don't give you that option. I get it if you have a laptop . EW,NI, Steindberg are the offenders. IK - I can download their zip files. I can hold on to my VSL files. I can keep al of my Live Suite files. I'm getting turned off more by software the way software is distributed these days.
  3. I'm too stupid to mess with this anymore. My solution these days since I also game is have a 1TB OS drive. It's a lot easier. I even had some overhear despite even games are now bloated.
  4. I make it a habit to buy those.
  5. I've grown to like iLok. There are downsides to machine activation as well. It triggers hardware changes. Some have gotten it right. There is really no such thing as offline anymore. You still have t go online for some reason. The days are gone when you bought software on a CD, entered the serial number and done.
  6. VR Music was not in the download
  7. Yay! More hoops to jump through just to use software
  8. My take is disk hogging synths are only valuable to enthusiasts and the listener could care less. Forbidden Planets takes up 51GB of space and I don't think f my Arturia, Sylenth, Spire, Serum, and a whole lot of others dent that.
  9. Mine isn't always about sound but for me it's simple Kontakt Player >>>>>>>>> Sine Player
  10. less disk space STILL not OPTIMIZED
  11. Odd. I got it for free because I had X or did I pay for it? That's actually a nice one to have.
  12. So if you have the Max version I guess you still have to buy. Avoid downloading this is you don't want a demo plugin in your numerous T Racks plugins. The world gets better everyday when there is another EQ or compressor. There is a shortage of the only plugin you ever need.
  13. That would be a price for a second license which is fine if you have 10 machines.
  14. Please note. Kontakt 7 or higher full version is required. When I get K8 full the first thing I'm going to do is delete K7.
  15. Yes and no. If for VIs - Kontakt, for synths is more for Falcon. All of their libraries seemed geared for synths. But most people use them as romplers.
  16. I always think of their workstation as the likes of Sampletank. Most sounds are not on the level of a dedicated Kontakt library or even KU when it comes to orchestra. Falcon on the other hand is a much different product with plenty of possibilities. This is like UVI's Komplete. This upgrade offer at my price is not even tempting. It's not my idea of loyalty. I think the days are gone where many people are willing to spend over $500 on a single payout of software when there is plenty of music gear that don't need upgrades. There's monitors, audio interfaces, controllers, budget guitars, ect.
  17. Well that is one thing about OT libraries. I get why they did their own player so you can buy a piece at a time. Kinda odd but the library was already installed.
  18. when has that ever stopped anyone
  19. Nope, mine is $499 and I have Falcon. That is why. For some this would be duplicate licenses. Sometime this is often an issue with some iLok software. It's rare for an extra license discount. It's the same way with VSL.

    Serum 2 189$

That' s the reality no one wants to hear. I have plenty of wave table synths and they pretty much do the same thing if you are into making music instead of sound design. I've eventually owned Serum for less by using my PB credits. If you are not into program there are plenty of great 3rd party presets.
