I have all of my SATA ports used up. Each System has about 3 2TB HDDs. I'm thinking of removing a lot of stuff rarely used and switching those drives to 1TB SSDs. I probably don't ever use 75% that comes in Komplete Ultimate. I've finally got my collection of loops down to under 400gb. Sampletank eats a lot of space.
As for one being overloaded with plugins you could be like the other kids on the block with a new pair of shoes but I'll pass since I would forget I have it and rarely use it. Sure it's highly touted but I will pass.
I'm less of a fan of apps that don't allow you more control of distribution. This is the problem with most romplers. At least with Sampletank, Kontakt, I can archive the downloads which is handy for multiple machines.
I'm not fond of the bloatness in Soundpaint. Angels is under 2gb for Kontakt.
Hard to fathom that the Commodore 64 is 63gb for the full blown version. There are some that are gaga over this. I would think these could be duplicated on any softsynth.
My only concern about Soundpaint is how big these libraries can be. That seems to be an 8dio trademark. Too many sample developers are into bloat that makes game developers jealous.
I'm still amazed how Spitfire made that 300mb BBC sound great.
It's not the libraries that are so expensive as much as buying the drive space to host them.
Some are probably not aware how terrible VSL's license replacement policy was. They started selling dongle insurance. Hopefully that will change. If VSL every goes to a 2 machine limit I'll be a big fan.
How many computers can I use with a new license?
You are allowed to install our products on multiple computers, but you can only activate a product on two computers at any one time.
