Hi guys! I've been thinking about recording my own podcast, and I can't figure out how to mute a track while I'm recording. Is there a way to do this on Cakewalk? For example, I will use 2 mics and I will use music sometimes, so when the music is playing I want to mute my mics while I'm recording and not in post-production, just to save some time. I'm using a Scarlett 18i20 third generation so I can use its playback function to record the songs I'm playing on the pc, but have no idea how to mute or unmute the inputs in real time. Thanks in advance!

Sadly I'm getting the same trouble with the vst's you sent me. I use Windows 10, version 10.0.18362, I think i'ts the latest. The drivers for my Scarlett 18i20 are up to date. Thanks in advance!

The name is Redtron_SE.dll and it has a folder that includes a few files too, and its 11MB(dll file). Thanks!

Just tried both options, Wifi and Antivirus and nothing worked. But, what I discovered is that when I'm using the MME Driver Mode with Windows Audio drivers, I dont get the glitches. But as soon as I switch to the ASIO Drivers of the Scarlett 18i20 I start getting the audio trouble. Obviously I can't work with the windows drivers(since the latency and audio inputs and outputs).

I've used a lot, but one of the most important for me is Redtron (a mellotron vst). I use only free vsts, or most of them at least are freebies. And I've used diferent buffer sizes, but most of the time 512 samples. I will try what you posted before and post an update!

Yes, I did it.

Disabling the effects didn't fix the glitches. I'm using a laptop, 1.8GHz, 8GB RAM. I'm also using an Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen in ASIO Mode. The project is in 48kHz and 24bits. Thank you for answering!

Could you solve this problem? I've been having trouble with my 32bits vst's too. I get a lot of clicks when I play and it's not a matter of buffer size.

32bit plugins problems 2020.01 build 24(64bits)

Could you solve this issue? I've been experiencing some trouble with 32 bits vtst's too. -
Most of them dont have a 64bits version, and I can't afford Jbridge, I dont even have a credit card so thats why almost all my software is free. It's weird because a few updates before, they were all working just fine.

They are in C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins.

Hi guys. I've been using some 32 bits vst's on cakewalk, and I've had a great experience. But just today after several months not using them, I opened Cakewalk and loaded a few vsts, and I had audio glitches with every 32 bits vst I used and everytime I played a note. This is the first time I've experienced this issue. I also tried with different buffer sizes and the glitches were less frequent with a bigger buffer, but still appeared. Any recommendation? Thanks in advance!

Sorry but cant find the link

This would be a great idea.

Thank you! I will check it out!

Thanks! But yeah, I know there are ways to get the tempo I need. But would be great to see an improvement in this subject, and make cakewalk more intuitive.

I just posted another topic and learnt that Cakewalk only accepts beats as "quarter notes" when you adjust the bpm of a song. It would be great if you could tap certain tempos in eights. For example, if you're listening an 6/8 time signature song, and want to know the bpm, in Cakewalk you should tap in quarters, meaning you have to press space bar in the 1-3-5 eights, which can be pretty hard in certain situations, or with more complex time signatures or songs. I would love to see a feature that could give you more rhythmical versatility. Greetings!

Thank you for your answer! I would like to know more, so if you could show me that previous post, would be great!

Hi guys. I just started a Project where the time signature is 6/8, so I wanted to listen to an old recording of a song and tap the Tempo. It never matched the recording tempo, so I realized that every "tap" I was making was a quarter note, not and eight as I would think if I'm working with this time signature. Then, my question is if there's a way to make Cakewalk match the time signature I'm using with the Tap Tempo function automatically. I mean, if I use, lets say an 4/8 I would want to tap 4 eight notes and Cakewalk to recognize that every 4 beats theres an accented click. Or if there's a project where the tempo is 3/4, I want Cakewalk to recognize that when I'm taping, there are 3 beats per measure and one is accented. Finally, if there's no way to achieve this automatically. Is there a manual way to do this? Greetings and Thanks in advance!

I think You're by far one of the best "Audio and Music Production" Youtubers in the web. Thank you for this series.

Tap tempo and click and drag tempo
Apeirofobia replied to Esteban Villanova's topic in Feedback Loop
It would be awesome so If you need to find out the tempo of a file or a project, you could just press play and tap the tempo and not having to open a new window to do it. -

I've been experiencing some trouble with melodyne, everytime I create a FX region, the software displays the melodyne window but with no information. I need to close it and open it again so I can see the notes. -
Thank you, but it didn't work for me.
