Hi everyone,
I’ve been running into a strange issue in Cakewalk Next with MIDI clips. When I split or shorten a MIDI clip, the software seems to keep the hidden notes that were originally beyond the split point, even if they’re no longer visible in the clip.
Later, when I move clips around or place them next to each other, those hidden notes reappear — sometimes they duplicate perfectly on top of each other, and I end up with two identical notes playing at once. This also happens if I drag a note so it overlaps both clips: every note gets duplicated.
I tried using “Bounce to new clip” to clean things up, but it causes another problem: my sustain pedal (CC64) behaves incorrectly afterward — it cuts off abruptly.
Basically, I’d like to be able to split a clip destructively, meaning that any notes or CC data beyond the split point are actually deleted, not just hidden. Is there a setting or option for this in Cakewalk Next?
