It is not what you would expect. The Duck of Death is an exploration into changing an irritating and horrible sound into something beautiful and cinematic. The Ducks have been used raw and they have been transformed with other tools and then made into wonderful sounds with Omnisphere. The Duck (or actually Ducks) of Death brings you a voice heard all over the internet (you know the viral videos of people pushing a bunch of these down and running for their lives). I present a library that begs the question, what makes an instrument? I’ve gone with the idea that an instrument can really be anything. Let’s meet the Ducks. First we have The Big Duck. The Big Duck is the main vocalist of the library, producing most of the raw sonic material. Capable of doing short and long notes, The Big Duck specializes in monotonous delivery. Beat it enough and you can get some more colors out of it. And actually beating it with a stick produces some monotonous thumps. Then we have The Little Duck. It barks. The Duck of Death contains 200 patches, 50 multis and 165 original soundsources. The patches are divided into 11 categories that are easily identifiable within Omnisphere. Arp + Bpm (51), Distortion (6), Electronic Mayhem (2), Hits And Bits (16), Keyboards (2), Pads + Strings (34), Synth Bass (20), Synth Long (8), Synth Mono (6), Synth Poly (37), Texture Soundscapes (18). The Multis are divided into two categories with 25 multis in each: Cinematic Duckments and World of Ducks. The Duck of Death also contains a bonus library of drums recorded from a cardboard box and processed into electronic drum kits. This is provided in a simple Kontakt instrument as well as .wav files. This is actually a development that makes me interested in Reason. Always found the actual song making in it somewhat cumbersome, but to getting those rack instrument working in a different DAW would be very cool.

At no point has anyone called you stupid nor have I tried to win anything. Nothing was said in malice. I stated my countering opinion about recognizing a Kontakt library to yours as I felt what you said was out of line (the extortion scheme comment). Then I said why the Kontakt Player is not an option for many developers.

I felt no need to edit my post. Everything was there that I needed to say.

The GUI of Kontakt is one of the most well known and recognizable GUI´s computer music making. Cclarry already explained the features that make up the unchancing part of the kontakt GUI. It's one of those industry standard things. You don't need to own Kontakt to know what it looks like. The Kontakt GUI's are everywhere.

With that screenshot of the GUI the Kontakt is pretty much implied. And making libraries available in the free Kontakt Player means paying some serious cash to Native Instruments so for small manufacturers it's quite not a viable option. But Sharine is great, some of the best shakers around.

These are some very good tools. I have the standard v3 bundle and the plugins are easy to use and give good results.

Ooh, these are really growing on me and I keep using Black Rooster plugins more and more.

This is one of those libraries that hardly ever gets used in my projects. There's something about the sounds themselves that I find lacking.

Oh this is a nice offer. Kilohearts effects have been growing on me for a while and just updated to The Works bundle. These look simple but are some of the best and most versatile plugins around. And the Snap Head and Multipass hosts give these so much more possibilities. I can whole heartedly recommend these.

Albion One contains orchestra patches, percussion, synth souunds and loops. No solo instruments. Albion is a bread and butter basic composing tool and at that it beats most others. The big thing that sets Albion apart from the rest is the Air studios it was recorded in. There are things it is great at (soft playing) and things it's not really great at (detailed solo or even section writing).

I have both. They do sound nice, but for some reason I find they never end in my finished tracks. It might be the Kontakt instrument, which feels very unusable.

My take on Majestetica is this: I find it too wet and too large. With orchestral sections there is a certain point after which the coherence of the section starts to disintegrate and the sound loosen up and looses it's size. What I have heard of Majestetica this is definitely the case. I think this and 8Dios Legion series are a gimmick to make us think that we need more players to sound bigger, when in fact the size comes from the orchestration.

Well, I have something for Kontakt in the works... I would still recommend getting Omnisphere...

Cinesamples' problem is the price.isn't easy to take the plunge. I know that Tom Holkenborg likes their strings and that the freebie snare ensemble they had a fee years back is probably the best snare ens I've used. Wish they'd make their libraries more modular to buy.

These are really not an option for traditional orchestral writing. They're missing complete instruments that are required when writing orchestral music.

A perfectly good library still. And it has that Project SAM sound.

Seing that Amicus has better options already than these I would definitely avoid buying these. Soundwise these are eons behind everything else mentioned here.
