Sorry about this happening to you. This is one of the main reasons why it's good practice to always disable any wifi before opening a session, cakewalk or otherwise.
how will cakewalk/sonar authorise/authenticate without an internet connect?

Make sure you have a default browser set in Windows settings
if you don't, then it's edge, there's always a default browser in windows

yeah it's a bit sad for an online company, can't think of any other that has so much trouble with what should be a fundamental functionality, i'm surprised and saddened that they haven't figured this out by now

glad you figured it out, sorry for the cost, tho at least monitors are (/can be) cheap as chips these days

You mean a GM soundset virtual instrument supplied by Cakewalk?
I've never seen a BandLab/Cakewalk employee even hint that there will be, and considering that the GM file format seems to have fallen off in popularity, my guess would be no.
yep, shame, useful for playing midi files ootb
i'll bet a shiny euro their next "big" thing will be some kind of "ai" thing

32 for internal processing (all the maths are more accurate, especially with mixing and plugins) but 24 max for export, nothing/nobody consumes audio higher than 24

yep, merch is the biggest income for a (smaller) touring band, as the vultures generally don't take a piece of that
also, please buy the music you listen to 👍

they've been finalising this forever 🙄 imo there's no permi license coming, to bl as a business it doesn't make sense 🤷♀️

Just now, Glenn Stanton said:
i filled out the form with request for perpetual licenses and got a nice response which included the words like "we're looking into the options". so there is hope. but meanwhile i'm using Sonar to get work done.
Didn't we all

It might be time to get over the discontinuation of Project five two decades ago.
Unless it's still relevant 🤷♂️ Same feedback from the bakers about what's coming
Still, what's your take on all this?

I don't believe either of those things.
what's your idea then, what do you think is happening at blhq, other than ignoring us? you/we still can't get a perpetual license, even though we've been asking since forever without a clear response (other than "oh, we're considering it" for a long time now) it's the same as they did when they dropped project5 - how long will you give it?
