  1. Plug-ins protected by iLok are the worst in that regard. You have to email each publisher to remove your activation for a computer that you can no longer access to do it yourself. For me that's: AIR, Akai, Eventide, Metric Halo, Softube, Sonivox, and UVI. Waves is a strange animal. If you don't move your licenses back to the Waves cloud first, you will likely have to burn your once-a-year Waves license recovery privilege. Most other cases require either a simple reactivation, or a visit to your account online to remove the computer to free up an activation, like Celemony/Melodyne or XLN Audio.
  2. I suppose that right or wrong, IK must have assumed that most would have converted their old libraries to ST3 format by now. But I agree, not very consumer friendly.
  3. Once you have fixed it, I would recommend using a good disk imaging program to make a system drive image on an external drive, and then create a bootable recovery drive on USB flash to restore that image if ever necessary. One option is Macrium Reflect Free, which can do both reliably, and there are others. Beats re-installing Windows every time Windows or the hard drive crashes.
  4. There is an Addictive Keys update available after the installer updates...
  5. You would need a copy of ST3 to do any importing. ST4 doesn't support importing. ST4 will read ST3 libraries native, no import required.
  6. I would email Toontrack first to verify this if I was considering it.
  7. Generally the best deal is to upgrade from the standard Pro edition. Assuming that you have a recent (current or previous year) version of Pro, you can upgrade to UltraPak for $149. First time purchase of Pro is $129. First time purchase of UltraPak is $469. They typically run a sale every December when a new version is released, and the latest sale on upgrades is set to expire today, Jan 15th. https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htm
  8. Just curious, but with that BIAB plug-in now available, what would be the use case for DAW users to ever run the standalone BIAB application? I don't know the product in-depth enough to spot any differences, or any limitations of the plug-in version. Just recently upgraded to 2021 Ultrapak.
  9. Clavitube for $19? I picked that for my final freebie in the IK Group Buy this summer. Sounds great! I'd say definitely worth $19, and IMO more useful than Alternate Keys. Clavitube would be a nice addition for those with plenty of Rhodes and Wurlis already. It focuses on variations of two models of Clavinets, from directs to tube guitar amps and other effects in the rack. But then Alternate Keys might satisfy your hunger for accordions, harpsichords, and harmoniums, and a few other things such as a toy piano.
  10. My opinion is that the "soul" of an analog synthesizer is best accessed via knobs. You can reach into the heart of the machine by having a dedicated knob for most internal functions, and tweak and play with the sound in real-time. You can likely achieve incredible analog sound quality with today's technology, but if you lose your "soul" in the process, what are you really gaining? I think that is what I find most annoying about digital synths, with their clean looking panels and multi-function buttons. Menu diving on a LCD screen is not my idea of making music. VSTi plug-in instruments have brought back some of that tactile experience via controller mappings with knobs and sliders, and having direct access to internal synth parameters. But with the price tag for analog hardware such as it is, I would want a synth with a more tactile experience. IMHO. I would probably be inclined to spend the money on a better controller.
  11. Of those three sound banks for Ultra Analog, I already have Starlight and Cinematheque. Starlight is loaded with some great arpeggios and leads, while Cinemateque is loaded with textures, pads, and sequences. Daniel Stawczyk is an excellent sound designer!
  12. Does this mean that $29 plug-ins are now $19?
  13. For an analog synth, those knobs (8) look fairly sparse... ? Would have anticipated a front panel more like this...
  14. Wow, what a terrible experience! Good for you, allowing the local music shop to try to work through it! You were probably a bit more patient than I would have been, but glad to hear they took care of you in the end! I have never had anything like that happen with any of the keyboards I have bought from the 80's to now. Give us a report on that Oxygen after you get it set up and running!
  15. The only free one with those capabilities that I am aware of would be TW16Wx > https://www.tx16wx.com/ There may be others, but can't recall offhand...
  16. Those 12ms duration DPC events probably means that your CPU is not processing any audio during those events. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deferred_Procedure_Call
  17. Here is my LatencyMon Main page. And my drivers tab shows ACPI.sys has a zero value here. Yours is way too high, and may very likely be causing your issues. That note you got there related to power management is definitely something to follow up with. Did you download and install the latest available drivers for your motherboard from the manufacturer site?
  18. No need to do anything special. LatencyMon can identify problems even at idle. A few minutes is a good place to start, and see if there are any obvious problems. If that looks good, then try different use cases.
  19. That's ridiculous that none of their plans include ALL of their plug-ins! At least do it like PreSonus Sphere, which covers everything in the house! I own 30 Waves plug-ins, and not a single subscription covers all 30 of them... SMH. But that's just as well, because I never plan to join any software-as-a-service subscription plans anyway... ?
  20. You can also download a single installer with the latest version of all of your AAS products. Best way to get everything up to date in one pass!
  21. Then theoretically you shouldn't be having this issue with a new clean computer, with optimized settings, and a new audio interface, and all drivers up to date. Have you tried running LatencyMon yet, to see if the computer is having some trouble running real-time audio? The report might show a driver causing a DPC latency issue.
