Agreed! I have also spent my entire adult life doing "computer", and can totally relate to this opinion! IK products are among the best in the business, but they really need to reassess their delivery and support model. Although the new Product Manager is a step in the right direction! But the Group Buy rocks, and I would rather save any other negative comments until the end of the promotion!

Kontakt is multi-timbral, the Spitfire plugin is not. Multiple instances of Spitfire are required to do multi parts on separate channels. As bdickens has referenced, the plugin should be light enough to use multiple instances. If your computer has issues with that, you should look into freezing any Spitfire tracks that you are not currently working on. > https://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation?product=Cakewalk&language=3&help=Mixing.23.html Freezing an instrument track will bounce it down to audio, and lower the CPU used by any frozen track. You can revert it from frozen at any time, and make modifications as needed, but when playing back frozen tracks in a mix, they should use negligible CPU. Audio tracks put way less demand on CPU and memory than virtual instrument tracks do!

I understand how the NI library licensing system works, but the crossgrade eligibility items has always seemed a bit mysterious... I have happily used Player for years, but finally decided to take advantage of the crossgrade, after skipping it in the past, even though I was always eligible.

I will have 4 freebies to choose when we complete the current level (8). The only freebies that I have left to pick from are 2 of the Cinekinetics instruments, and several of the Hitmaker series loop packs for SampleTank. I will finish my Cinekinetiks collection, but will probably leave the Hitmaker stuff on the table... and any additional freebies that accumulate in this Group Buy.

Those are both cool lists! But can you vouch for them all qualifying for crossgrade pricing to Kontakt full, as Marshall asked for?

I don't think there has ever been an official list. But if you already have one of the qualifiers, the crossgrade will automatically show up as an option in your NI account. In the past I have seen Sennheiser DrumMic'a! qualify, as well as the Estey Reed Organ by Soniccouture. Others may add what worked for them... but they were typically 3rd party Player compatible libraries. DrumMic'a! was always popular for this purpose because it was free, and the Estey was a free giveaway a few years ago. But believe it or not, I seem to recall this time around NI chose my ancient license for Kompakt Sony Acid Pro (bundled with Sony Acid Pro 6 in 2006) as the qualifier. It's sort of random, because I have qualified in the past with the other two, but never pulled the trigger. It just picks one and says you can get the crossgrade!
