  1. Great jam session towards the end! ? I also have the sampled "Famous E" Rhodes from Orange Tree Samples. I wonder how they would compare?
  2. Well you are using the VST2 version in NanoHost. You earlier had said the VST2 worked OK? In what host? Regarding the double-ended arrow in the lower right corner of NanoHost, try hovering the cursor over it until it shows a cross icon, before click-dragging to re-scale. It works here on 1920x1200 HD. You can also re-scale the SynthMaster skin by right-clicking in the GUI, and selecting "Change global skin", and then NanoHost should adapt to the new plugin scale.
  3. Bulent at KV331 Audio has been planning a SynthMaster 3 for about as long as Urs Hechmann at u-he has been planning a Zebra 3. ? From what I have heard, he was going to start full time work on SM3 development a couple years ago, but got sidetracked with his iOS projects. That is finished now, but I think that Mac silicon threw him a new curve ball. These more recent updates that he has been making for SM2.9 have been to enable technology compatibility with SynthMaster One. So that presets from either synth can be loaded into a SynthMaster 3 layer. So yes, SM3 should be a combination of the two existing synths, with some additional new features, improved user interface, more layers, granular synthesis, wavetable editor, etc. But these current maintenance and bug fixes to SM2 will ensure that it's still a strong synth on its own for the time being!
  4. For years I avoided full Kontakt, and stuck with Player libraries. At full list for $399, Kontakt was a bit beyond my budget! But when I learned how to crossgrade to Kontakt for $125, I went all in!!! And I have found that many many excellent commercial libraries for Kontakt, such as those from Indiginus, are very reasonably priced. If Indiginus packaged them for Player, they would have to be a lot more expensive (Native Instruments licensing). A couple of prime examples are The Resonator for $59 https://www.indiginus.com/the-resonator or Renegade Acoustic Guitar for $69. https://www.indiginus.com/renegade-acoustic-guitar I am sure glad that I now have full Kontakt, so I no longer have to pay attention to those dreaded words "full Kontakt required".
  5. Not the FAME studio, but here's Muscle Shoals Sound Studio where some famous folks recorded... This is where the rhythm section from the FAME studio came and created their own studio here
  6. It sounds like Apple broke the world with their new Mac silicon...
  7. Try running the SynthMaster plugin .dll in the free NanoHost, instead of the native standalone host. I use it for all of my synths that don't have standalone versions, and find it consistently more usable than KV331 Audio's standalone version. https://www.tone2.com/nanohost.html
  8. I would love to get that as one of my remaining group buy freebie selections! Still have 7 left at the $149 level...
  9. Yuli also contributed a number of presets to the Arturia Pigments 3 factory library, as well as to the P3 expansion banks Amethyst, Crimson, Malachite, Ochre, and Onyx. He has added some very nice pads and leads to SynthMaster 2. Worth checking them out! Selcuk has added some very interesting presets to SM, especially like his arpeggios! And NatLife has some very modern and aggressive sounds. Watch out for the volume boost on most of his presets.
  10. A good alternative to subscriptions is buying once and never upgrading, unless absolutely necessary. I could see a need for professionals to use a subscription service if they are earning a living with the tools, but otherwise for amateurs and hobbyists...
  11. Thanks for the reminder Larry! Sometimes I forget what I have already acquired! This sound could be handy for the upcoming holidays.
  12. I bought a cheap GT 710 for $38 some 5 years ago. Ended up returning it, as it performed only slightly better than Intel HD, although having Nvidia drivers would workaround any issues with the Intel drivers. Probably OK for 2D only. Replaced that with a GTX 950 for $135. The GTX series is much stronger, and definitely required for decent 3D rendering

I have noticed that Kontakt Player compatible titles usually have big, bold, headlines "Works with Kontakt Player". Otherwise small print says "full Kontakt only".
  14. SoundPaint support got back to me a couple of times. Very responsive! Finally got it working with another attempt, after I disabled all security software. Re-enabled security after the install, and SoundPaint runs fine. Security was just interfering with the unpacking process, as far as I can tell.
  15. Combine that with IK Cinematic Percussion, and you should be covered with percussion for a while! https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st3cinematic/
  16. Does it improve any if you close the plugin windows during playback? I have noticed that I have a few plugins that perform better in "headless" mode, i.e., no eye candy. I found a good deal on an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 [Over 50 percent faster than GTX 1050] after I built my new PC last year. Intel HD Graphics performed well, but the dedicated GPU seems to give an edge with graphics heavy performance. Can't believe the prices on that GPU today! SMH! I got it last year for $161, with tax and free shipping. https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1650-review/
  17. Not too bad for free! "Orchestral Percussion takes traditional percussion instruments to a whole new level of realism, playability and audio quality. Users of Miroslav Philharmonik 2 and SampleTank will get the majesty of full-range, dynamic timpani, the stirring power of a massive 36” gran cassa orchestral bass drum, the unmistakable punctuation of symphonic chau gongs and piatti cymbals. Also included are the ultra-stylized articulations of three different classical snare drums along with flexible variations of sleighbells, tambourines, triangles, castanets, ratchet, bell tree and many other instruments performed with multiple round robins and recorded with pristine audio fidelity." https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st3orchestralpercussion/
  18. I believe that Fender + PreSonus will offer a lot more combined than Gibson + Cakewalk ever did. We'll just have to see how it plays out. Cakewalk never really seemed to put much effort into hardware support after the Roland days. Hardware + DAW integration is what folks really want now.
