  1. I would qualify that statement to say that "their new product development is poor". The existing XLN programs still work very well, and they are frequently offered maintenance updates by the developers. Just a lack of new products or content for existing customers to look forward to...
  2. XLN needs to come up with some new stuff. Their sales used to generate enthusiasm around here!
  3. Yep. The old resize required a visit to the plugin menu.

  5. z3ta+ comes with 3 flavors: z3ta+.dll, z3ta+_fx.dll, and z3ta+_fx2.dll. I've only ever used the first one, which is an instrument that loads on an instrument track. Cannot report on how to use it as an FX on a bus or insert. Here's an old SOS article on the topic by Craig Anderton: Using Sonar's z3ta+ Synth as an Effects Processor https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques/using-sonars-z3ta-synth-effects-processor
  6. But realize that paying $7 (with Jam Points) to re-download expired sounds is still WAY cheaper than buying a new drive to store them on... "Sounds expired? You can reactivate ALL of your sounds downloads access by purchasing 1 (one) 'Download Reactivation Credit' in IK Multimedia's webstore. Reactivation will open download access for 180 days for all registered products."
  7. z3ta+ was bundled with Sonar Producer 7 thru Platinum, and may have been made available in promo editions, but I've only used the Sonar versions. z3ta+ is included in the Platinum Instrument Collection via Cakewalk Command Center.
  8. That 5.25" bay drawer is a cool idea! eBay has a few... https://www.newegg.com/p/pl?d=Drawer+5.25
  9. z3ta+ v1.5 is a 64-bit VST2. Works fine in CbB here. Any 32-bit plugins in the CbB plugin browser will be shown in green text.
  10. Take a look at the Miniverse Module Collection, from Cherry Audio. On sale now for $39.00 ($19.50 for owners of Miniverse). https://store.cherryaudio.com/bundles/miniverse-module-collection Build your own Mini in Voltage Modular, with the individual modules from the Miniverse (Minimoog) instrument. All you need is the free Voltage Modular Nucleus edition to get rolling your own! Edit: corrected pricing info...
  11. I'm getting arthritis looking for something on sale that will actually be useful...
  12. You would still need to MIDI learn each individual keyboard CC control from the synthesizer end, right? Otherwise, how could it know what your template was sending? It is my understanding that you can use the Arturia MIDI Control Center to customize your keyboard to send what you wish, but this synth has zero pre-mapped CC controls that I can see. In other words, it's default is a blank slate...
  13. Not with the Mini version. I was curious because there is a "User Audio" sub-folder in the main samples folder.
  14. Don't have that particular Arturia keyboard, but on my KeyLab MkII it's pre-mapped in their instruments to the select macro controls in their soft synth GUI, such as in Analog Lab. But with any third party VST it's necessary to use whatever MIDI learn capability is built into the plugin to map the controls, as each physical knob sends a unique CC#, but that assignment needs to be known by the instrument. That's a manual setup, but the Arturia is a capable controller once the MIDI CC assignments are made. From the MiniMonsta2 manual: https://gforcesoftware.notion.site/Global-Controls-986571e6857448729b20c6dadf9777be
  15. This is what my Scarlett 2i2 inputs look like with "use friendly names..." unchecked.
  16. Also, with the Scarlett 2i2 you can record into 2 Cakewalk mono tracks at the same time from the 2 inputs, so that you don't need to split them later. In Cakewalk track input settings: [Input 1 1 L] [Input 2 2 R] Instead of [Input 1 + Input 2 1+2 S]
  17. SynthMaster One has many presets and expansions that you will not find in SynthMaster 2. If you are planning to get SynthMaster 3 at some point, it's time to get on board with these sounds! For those that don't know, SynthMaster One is newer than SynthMaster 2, and was a spinoff project to create a simplified one-layer wavetable based synth, that is quite good on it's own. The developer has back ported all of the newer SM One technology into the latest version of SM2 so that the synth engines are compatible. It will be really cool to be able to open these presets as layers in SM3!
  18. Do you have MIDI output enabled in Kontakt settings?
  19. But I can get Kontakt 7 FULL for $99 (update from Kontakt 6)...
  20. Still running Native Access 1.14.1 here. Found 14 updates to Komplete 13 Standard, all are FX: Bite Choral Dirt Driver Flair Freak Phasis Raum Replika Solid Bus Comp FX Solid Dynamics FX Solid EQ FX Supercharger Transient Master FX This is a typical change log for many of these plugins. Of particular note is that the minimum OS required is now Windows 10 or macOS 11.
  21. I tried the Studio One Pro and Cubase Elements demos at that time. Since I don't have external MIDI hardware other than my USB controllers hooked up these days, Studio One Pro was an easy decision. Cakewalk Sonar was my main rig when I used to have several external synths and a drum machine attached. I went with the demo for Cubase Elements because it didn't require a dongle at that time. I probably could have got on with Cubase, but I was a little annoyed that I'd have to buy a dongle just to demo Cubase Pro. I think since MIDI hardware support wasn't my main concern, I actually preferred the more intuitive UI of S1. Good to hear that Steinberg has moved off the dongle!
  22. I installed the Cube Mini samples on my D drive. "D:\CUBE Samples\Lunacy Audio\CUBE\Samples".
