  1. Oh man... this is sad. They have some of the BEST metal drum sounds around.... And I've bought a lot of them already. Would love to get all the remaining products I don't already own from them before they're gone. I'll reach out and see. Really sad about this one. They nailed some of the best '70s metal drum tones with their Vintage Doom Drums pack and '80s metal drum tones with their Modern Doom drums pack. Spot on drum kit sounds from that era. https://ugritone.com/products/vintage-doom-drums https://ugritone.com/products/modern-doom-drums
  2. So I've intentionally NOT bought any melda production plugins for a decade or more now as I'd read that only first time buyers get that 20% discount. So they actually lost sales to me by having this policy. I also wanted to see if the complete package would ever get a lot lower. Plus I had too many other brands and plugins to buy I wanted ahead of them. So then I missed the boat on the $569 complete when it hit for that short time. I didn't have the cash that week... At this point I'm getting to tired these days to research deeply the best way to get them all. So what is the cheapest path to complete if another $500 deal doesn't come along? Also, I do have a few of their plugins I've received for free. Does that exclude me from the 20% new customer discount?
  3. I'm waiting for the $569 price to come around again for the everything bundle. Then I'm in.
  4. I got the $600 everything last year but it doesn't have the multichannel loudness bundle in it. So I think that's all I need now. $129 it seems. Or is there a cheaper upgrade path or other items I'm still missing? Edit: Seems the upgrade to this is $10 cheaper. MULTI CHANNEL LOUDNESS BUNDLE, UPGRADE FROM LC6 NATIVE. https://store.tcelectronic.com/upgrades/
  5. Oh good. I was thinking they might have taken it down intentionally to prevent all the virus installer downloads in order to get the firmware. Glad it's back up.
  6. Image-Line is awesome. Their business model has always been 'lifetime' license though. Not a change to their model late in the game that creates red flags. Their model also includes 'in-app purchases' so to speak to ensure future cash flow from new items. A much smarter strategy. Bit different than what I was describing when a company suddenly changes its model to 'everything for one bundle price forever hereafter'. E.g. a firesale. If it looks like a going out of business sale it just may be. Buyer beware is the point. Glad to hear you've never encountered it yet. Hopefully you never will.
  7. Seriously though, I learned a few years before that 'lifetime' deal was posted that companies sometimes do this intentionally as a money grab when they're about to go out of business. They know that 'lifetime' means their business lifetime which is not that far off. But they don't care. They're desperate and just go through with it. Sadly I'd had it happen to me with another company a year or two before Gibson offered this deal. So I instantly knew what was likely coming and stayed away. I was proved correct and glad I was wary. The posts about the business ownership aspects of it are correct but for normal customers unaware, they associate the name with it being the same company if the company name remains the same. Smart management factors this in to reduce potential negative downside. So there is some culpability still in a new owner trying to leverage the old name. They do this hoping for the upside without the downside, but there's a risk involved in having just this occur where the customer still holds a grudge. Cost of doing business when re-utilizing the old name. They make a calculated decision and see what happens. Let the market decide. I'd rather see them not use the Cakewalk company name but still use the Sonar product name. That way they make a definite line in the sand in the mind of the customer (see the marketing book "Positioning") and can still leverage the loyal Sonar customer base and drop the questionable Cakewalk name Gibson created unfortunately. Otherwise some may still retain negative associations to the old company name even if owned by Gibson at the time and go down the fool me once mindset...
  8. By the way, REAPER just got another dot release and it's still only $60 for personal use and you can even use it for free.
  9. The Virus line is discontinued and the software no longer updated for newer OSs. This open source project is intended to ensure it isn't lost to history. It's for owners of Viruses who wish to continue using their purchased product in the future. It also allows the TI (True Integration) that never really worked well or completely. Now as a VST plugin it does.
  10. Link from the email doesn't work for me on multiple browsers.
  11. I have all the vengeance sound plugins on my elicenser. Are those transferable somehow to something else? Also have my original refx nexus still on it. Also have old versions of Cubase still on it. Good to keep them all on it or best to transfer if an option?
  12. Yeah, it's a bit CPU hungry still, but it is emulating two of the Motorola DSP chips for the Ti. You can choose 'snow' mode which lowers it to 1 DSP. You can also overclock and underclock the DSP! I also use it on a Ryzen 3900x and it is pretty good on that. Thanks @satya I forgot to mention the Vavra plugin. It's also incredible. I can't wait until they emulate the Korg MS2000. Of which I own. But would still love it in plugin form!
  13. Oh, interesting. I'd not looked in to the Oasys PCI card yet. Good to know it uses the same chip. Thanks for sharing. I picked up an actual Korg Oasys keyboard two years ago and haven't had time to even mess with it yet. I need to hook it up and play with it. Got to back it up too to be safe. Korg was nice enough to let me register it so I need to complete that process now that I think about it. Thanks for reminding me.
  14. Did you download those drivers or something else into your soundbank folder? If so, it can cause OsTirus to crash on opening. Only have your presets in your data source folder. Also be sure to reboot.
  15. I think this is the system to beat still right now. Especially of late with the UAD and Softube integration and updates recently added. It's compact and reliable. The value is incredible. The Console 1 Mk2 is a bargain right now too. Thinking of buying another before they're gone. Is the Fader 1 even available anymore new? Lucky I got one awhile ago.
  16. Well said. I should have mentioned that. I donated the day they said they released OsTirus as an alpha for donators only. It's been fun watching the development and contributing bug reports and having fun with it. Absolutely in love with this thing and this dev group. Wished more options like this were out there.
  17. This project is hands down one of the most incredible things to hit the plugin market in years. Perhaps ever. I own two Tis. A desktop and a keyboard version. Its is identical. Only the A/D converter outs are skipped of course. But the actual code running on it is 100% bit identical. They even matched the default level out on the USB outs (92db) so it would sound as identical as possible. If someone says they can hear a difference it's their audio interface A/D converters which is very, very subtle and not worth complaining about or even mentioning really. They need to be making music instead of complaining about .0001 difference in their signal chain. This was no easy task I'm sure. It's something no one else has attempted nor succeeded in doing before that I'm aware of. Actual DSP chip emulation so you're running the ACTUAL firmware.bin ROM file (which is the actual Virus OS) of the Virus TI (OsTirus) or A/B/C (Osirus). Incredible. Plus they are working on the Microwave XT next and perhaps the Nord Lead 3 in the future. Even the SuperNova is on the list! Great days are here and ahead. The TI has 2x DSPs they're emulating already. The NL3 has 6x and the SuperNova will have 8x! OMG. Just emulating 2 DSPs was a mountain to climb I'm sure but a great first milestone to achieve. It really does sound incredible. I wished all VST soft synths sounded this good. Sadly very few do. Get it. Use it. It's free. (If you own a virus). https://dsp56300.wordpress.com/faqs/
  18. Confirmed. It does finally allow registration and activation.
  19. Can't login still. Can't reset password either. Not a good look Behringer.
  20. Novum is one of the few new, 'groundbreaking' synths I've heard in years. Been on my watch list since it was released. Tempted.
  21. Thanks Sergio. Great tip.
