Alright, this is my first jump into the "Free Kontakt Rabbit Hole"! Wish me well!!

Let me try and be clearer. I already have Syntronik. No plans at the moment to get Syntronik 2. I installed Syntronik 2 CS because it's a freebie and wanted to try it and see what it's about. I was worried that my Syntronik stuff wouldn't work anymore. (Until I re-read Larry's post) So now that I installed Syntronik 2 CS, I started it up and to me it appears to look just like Syntronik, with the ST4 UI. IOW, nothing really new to me. If there is, I ain't seeing it. Syntronik 2 CS installed it's sample lib on my C drive. I don't want that for future installations. Right now it's only 3 -4 gb. But I want to try and move that before it installs anymore libs there. : )

Yeah I just saw that. I still might grab this. Demoing it now. I do like the UI. Really simple to understand and control. Very easy to change the settings to achieve different sounds fast.

OK, now I see what's going on. I can use Syntronik 2 CS just like I used Syntronik 1. Seems to me to be almost the same UI as far as I can tell. IOW, a lot like ST4. How ever, when I look at the locations that Syntronik 2 CS has for it's libs, it is showing a C\: location. I don't remember if the installer asked me where to put it's files or not. Wondering if everytime I install a Syntronik 2 lib, will it install on my C drive? Can I move it? I don't see a way. I mean I can move them in Explorer, but the sample folder in Syntronik 2 just says Samples. So I am wondering if it's dependent on that folder structure. Might drag the folder over to my sample drive, rename it and see what happens!!

What if you don't have Syntronic 2? Is Syntronic 1 still going to work?

I know!! I just bought it while you were posting!! I went to the link you posted and saw the $199 deal. But when I went to the regular website, did a search for Komplete Select, it would not give me the $199 deal!! It was like over $300!! So I am go to go. Others make note, you have to click Larry's link (or the Cyber Monday link on the main age) to get the $199 deal.

I was waiting all weekend to see if there was a better deal to get, thinking the $199 sale price would still be available. But in NI's infinite wisdom, they pulled the $199 deal, so this is no longer a deal I thought it would be. So I will pass. My BF purchases? 2 TC clip-on tuners!!

That was pretty good!! Really nice break in the middle when the fire comes into video. And a great finish with the vocal. Yep, that's a winner.

Well then let us hear what you come up with. And don't take the first ones in this post down. That way I can listen to them all and compare. For the sole reason of learning from this. It is so interesting how we all hear the same thing, but hear it in a different way. Especially something as emotional as this. I preferred the AAMS trk because to me it sounded "warmer". And antler hears it in a slightly different way. I think of it as warmth, but hearing antler's description, I would shake my head and say "Yeah, it has more body!" So keep us updated Gary.

Listened to this on my studio monitors and my AKG K240 headphones. Gary they both sound good. I would go with either one. That said, I prefer the AAMS master. Has a little warmer sound. Why IDK! But both versions seem to me to have a certain perceived volume on some sections and a lower perceived volume on other sections. IOW in the beginning sections of the song all the way through the first chorus all volume seem good. But when the last chorus comes in the volume seems to not be as loud (not a volume drop) and the very end of the song when you sing the last few words. That last chorus to me loses some of it's impact because it's volume seems to not be as loud as the rest of song before it. The piano seems to get buried in that last chorus also. Strings and the voices (male voices I never even heard before!) sound nice and clean. In fact both versions sound clean and clear. Are these the same mixes as the versions before? I listened also to the version in the video and I do notice these versions seem to me to have more pronounced transients. For me I would tame those down a little. But I have been listening for over an hour now trying to be helpful and I just am starting to nitpick!! LOL : )

I think you might be right about this. And after looking at a lot of "so called BF Sales" that were really just the same ole BS sales they been doing, ujam has got my attention and may get my money. Some of it anyway!! D/L Solid now to try out.
