  1. When spotting video there are a lot of reasons I would like my tempo changes to remain where they are... Insert a tempo at measure 10. 120BPM. Now Insert the same tempo (120BPM) at measure 9. Because they are the same tempo, Cakewalk/Sonar adds the tempo change at measure 9 but deletes the tempo change at measure 10. I have to go back and add the tempo change again at measure 10. You can have multiple consecutive tempo changes at the same tempo, as long as you are adding them later in time. But if you add one prior to another tempo change at the same tempo it combines them. Is there any way to leave tempo changes as they are? Otherwise I wind up having to create a marker at every tempo change. I would like the behavior to be more like markers...
  2. (So happy to finally get rid of the recently used plugins I'm continuing down my list of gripes!) I don't think this is a bug I think it's intentional behavior but it is SO counter-intutive to me that even after years and years of this happening I still make the mistake on a daily basis. As an example: You have a VST open to adjust settings. You close the VST (or not) to return to track view, and lasso a clip. The clip is now highlighted (seemingly selected, one would think). You hit "delete"... instead of the highlighted clip deleting, the VST is deleted. Fortunately 90% of the time that I accidentally delete my plugin instead of the clip I wanted to delete, hitting undo will restore the VST with settings, but it is VST-dependent and sometimes the VST is restored to it's default state, losing settings. Just curious if this is intentional and for what possible reason a highlighted clip isn't considered to be selected or the focus?
  3. Hi! THIS is amazing, thank you so much!! I couldn't be happier right now to finally get rid of that... To clarify for anyone else following this, I couldn't untick "allow control" in permissions because it was greyed out, but was able to select "deny control" which overrides "allow control" and worked great!
  4. This is a good list, I need most of this! Especially clip pane background and ALL text. +1
  5. Ever since you added the feature I hate the space that recent VSTs take up at the top of the list and I never use it. Additionally, the recent VSTs are displayed by their actual name, not by my custom naming system. When you have 100s and 100s of VSTs and have them meticulously organized and grouped this is kind of annoying. I know it's a small thing and also a small amount of space... but would it also be a small thing to add a "do not display recent VSTs" chcekbox somewhere in the preferences? Figured it wouldn't hurt to ask! Love you guys, thanks. ❤️
  6. No messages... it hangs for about 5 minutes and then goes into "not responding" mode. It's possible it would eventually resolve but I've never let it go for more than 15 minutes. All of my old projects have potentially 40-50 sonitus plugins on them as they don't take up much memory/cpu, I will have a sonitus eq and delay (disabled) on every audio track in my template.
  7. Win 11 Pro. Sorry I think you misunderstood my post... all my Cakewalk projects will open in Sonar, I was talking about going BACK to working in Cakewalk by Bandlab after installing the Core plugins. And yes, of course unchecking "replace if possible on project load" fixed the problem, thanks for that I should have thought of it, totally forgot that was an option. I just thought you (and others) should know that backwards migration was not working, though I suspect compatibility issues in Cakewalk is not high priority anymore. But, I'm still using it for another month! Sonar is not working for me yet (see my other post in the Sonar forum). I did reinstall Core plugins and recreated the hang, I made a dump file after 15 minutes of "not responding" (in Cakewalk) if you still want the dump file I can send a link but it's 2.5 GB. Thanks!
  8. This is more of an FYI, probably doesn't apply to a lot of people here who have already switched or planning to move forward in Sonar. After installing the latest Sonar update and the new core plugins, none of my old projects would open in Cakewalk. They just hang on the "prepping project" or "preparing project" (I forget) indefinitely. Granted, every one of my projects for sure uses the Sonitus plugins, they are in my template... I assume that is the issue, trying to replace them. Removing the new core plugins from my VST3 folder resolved the issue. Just be aware if you install them there may not be any going back to Cakewalk, depending, your mileage may vary.
  9. Just to update, this issue still persists with the latest update. It is rendering my workflow useless!
  10. This is exactly me, it's so frustrating. At the least, allow us to continue using Cakewalk until they bring the same color customizations to Sonar. Being forced to move to a DAW with less features makes zero sense. And I already paid for Sonar I don't have an issue with that part of it.
  11. I do use workspaces but that's not the issue here... it's not on startup or opening or closing sessions. Like let's say all I do is hit play and then stop, then ctrl+win+right-arrow to jump to a different desktop, Sonar will follow me there and now be on the wrong desktop. It's the only app/program with this behavior, I think it's a bug in the way it's interacting with Windows but I have no idea. Sorry if I didn't describe it right, it's not using multiple screens but switching between virtual desktops on the same screen as described here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configure-multiple-desktops-in-windows-36f52e38-5b4a-557b-2ff9-e1a60c976434 Thanks for the response!
  12. TL;DR version: Sonar will not stay on the desktop I assign it to. So I've been using multiple desktops with Windows for as long as they've been a thing, it is truly the best feature of Windows in my opinion. On desktop 1 I have Sonar (or up until very recently, Cakewalk). Desktop 2 has all my internet stuff, file browsers, email, etc. Desktop 3 has remote desktop open which controls my VEPro/sample computer. It is the most efficient setup and I am constantly switching back and forth between the 3 desktops as I work. I just started trying out Sonar in the last couple of days, very much not looking forward to the inevitable forced move, though also greatful for the short-lived extension. Whenever I move back to desktop 2 from desktop 1, roughly about 75% of the time Sonar follows me to that desktop and is now on desktop 2. I have to manually right-click and force it back to desktop 1 every time. Cakewalk has never done this, not once, in however many years... has to be at least 10 years I've been using multiple desktops. And I use Cakewalk 80+ hours a week. In fact no program or app has ever jumped desktops on me. What gives? I'm on Win 11 Pro version 10.0.22621
  13. Thanks for this! I guess I've been enjoying your theme for many years without proper thanks. Had to update it on the latest cakewalk update to get it to work again.
  14. 38 seasons and counting of the TV show Survivor produced entirely in Sonar/Bandlab... http://www.koskenmaki.com/lomaloma.mp3 http://www.koskenmaki.com/lomaloma.jpg http://www.koskenmaki.com/fijiending.mp3 http://www.koskenmaki.com/fijiending.jpg
