  1. I installed MailWasher on my Music drive, (it allows me to view my emails on the server instead of downloading) so I can just copy the 2FA code and paste it into the login. Interesting though, when I went to open CbB it just asked me to log in and did not request the 2FA. When I contacted support I also asked this: If I upgrade to the new Sonar, will it still phone home all the time? Also, if I don't renew my subscription will I still be able to use the program? and this was their response: If you upgrade to the new Sonar, it will occasionally check in online to verify your subscription status, but it doesn’t constantly "phone home." If you decide not to renew your subscription, you’ll still be able to open and access your projects in a read-only mode, but you won’t be able to save or export until you reactivate your membership. I guess I missed this in the discussions about the new subscription system.
  2. Are you saying that every time you open Sonar you have to sign in with BL?
  3. Which support did you contact? I'm having the same problem except my email is on another "C" drive in my computer, (I use two "C" drives. 1 for business, emails etc and 1 for music). So obviously I can't use the 2FA which emails. Can this be changed to a phone call? TIA
  4. Hi Mettelus. Thanks again for your help. I was able to find a used, (like new) 970 and with a little board modification, it's up and running! Paul
  5. Hi All. I've been running this box since 2016 and the graphics card has died on one side so I'm looking for suggestions to replace it. Specs: Power Supply = Corsair, Rmi Series, RM 850i, 850 watts MB = Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 LGA 1150 w/ 16GB DDR3 ram Processor = Intel Core i7-4790k LGA 1150 Graphics = Gigabyte GEFORCE GT 730, Nvidia GT 730/Rev 2.0, PCI 2.0x8/2GB DDR3/64 bit. D-Sub/Dual-Link DVI-D/HDMI Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  6. The grass would actually be greener over the drain field, (but who's counting)? lol
  7. I ended up doing the clean install which included all the previous versions of Sonar I had installed, (Sonar 8, 8.5, X2 & X3, Splat & CbB). What a pain! CbB did open at that point but I could not open a project file without a crash. I began to open project files via “Safe Mode” and after a long and arduous process I identified the plugin that was causing the problem. Unfortunately, I have no idea what was causing the initial CbB crashes. The project file crashes was caused by BReverb but I think I initially installed the wrong version. If I remember correctly, there was a problem with BReverb at one point and an updated version for Sonar was released. The problem with CbB crashing might have been a Win10 update. I keep this computer offline but whenever I need to access the Web, it sneaks in an update and I don’t always see it. Everything seems to be working as it should now. Thanks for your help. Paul
  8. Thanks Ralph. I've uninstalled my Focusrite drivers and Control software as well as Sonarworks SoundID Reference and CbB will still not open. I really don't want to reinstall CbB but that's what support is advising, a clean reinstall. I'm concerned that doing a complete uninstall will wipe all the previous versions of Sonar I have installed. While getting everything back in is possible, it's a lot of work! Paul
  9. Well, I've tried everything I can think of except reinstalling CbB. Guess I'll give support a call and see what happens. Thanks all. Paul
  10. Thanks Mark. I'll give that a try.
  11. I have a fairly new install of CbB on Win10. I've been working my way through various issues but so far it's been working. Last night I got my Frontier Tranzport installed and was hoping to track some vocals this afternoon. When I started Win10 and clicked on the CbB shortcut the program refused to open. It would put up the opening splash screen and after one or two seconds, it would be gone. I've tried everything I can think of but it's no go. I uninstalled the Tranzport drivers and even updated CbB to the latest version, (I think, as it won't open, I can't check that). I didn't try to open CbB using the executable file inside the program folder, (don't see that making a difference though). The only other thing I haven't tried yet is to completely uninstall CbB and then reinstall. I don't really want to go through setting it all up again. I was able to open other programs, even Splat. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Paul
  12. Thanks Mark. That's interesting as the only thing that's different is I've moved to Win10 and I don't remember ever seeing this before. I'll load up some other projects and see if I can locate the VST that's causing this. Paul
  13. Thanks HIBI. True but I don't think CbB is one of them. Either way, after setting it to 100, it made no difference. FYI, moving my Waves Licenses to a thumb drive did solve that problem, (at least, so far...). Paul
  14. I been having some problems with my Waves licenses, (they keep deactivating), so I moved them from my HDD to a thumb drive. Lo and behold the Auto Save began to work properly! After a few hours of editing it began to start saving more often than the setting. Not as bad as before but still.... Very strange. I'll see what happens tonight. Any thoughts would be helpful. Thanks. Paul
  15. CbB V2021.01, Win 10 is not following the Autosave settings. I normally set it to 5 minutes and 5 or 10 changes. It saves almost constantly. I can raise it to 100 changes and it still saves after several moves. I think this may have been discussed a while back so if anyone could kindly point me in that direction, I'd be grateful. Thanks. Paul
  16. Thanks Tim. I'll know more when I actually get some hearing aids. I think you're right. The hearing aids I would need would likely be designed to hype frequencies that increase intelligibility vs. flat response so I'd probably not wear them while working on music. If that's the direction I go, that solves the issue of wearing aids, glasses and headphones. I've worn glasses since I was in my 40's so I've overcome the headphone and glasses issues. Thanks to everyone for your responses. Paul
  17. Thanks for the reply and the information. I'd be concerned that the "in-ear" type of aids could easily fall out if you were, say, mowing the lawn. lol Paul
  18. Thanks much for the reply, Brian. Very helpful. Paul
  19. Thanks for the reply, Tim. I need to look into the "process" of fitting for hearing aids. I assumed that they were just a mic and an amp with maybe some filtering. I'd be concerned that they might feed back while using headphones. I like your idea though. If they could identify which frequencies your ears were rolling off, could they just boost those freq's? I've been using Sonarworks for years. Works good. Paul
  20. Thanks for your reply. Does Costco have a hearing department or are these 'off the shelf' hearing aids? It seems to me that 'over the ear' type of aids would certainly be more uncomfortable when used with glasses and headphones. Paul
  21. Hi All. I'm not sure where this post should go so please move as needed. Most of my music related listening is done using closed-back, over-ear headphones. I wear glasses and have become used them while wearing headphones. Sooner or later, I'm going to need hearing aids and I'm wondering how this will work. Anyone who has experienced with this combination, I'd love to hear your comments. What type of phones & aids are you using? What works and what doesn't. Anything on the subject would be welcomed. TIA Paul
