UPDATE: BANDLAB ASSISTANT 5.0.4 download (but why?)
adrian.crossan replied to witch_wyzwurd's topic in Cakewalk by BandLab
It looks like the problematic javascript has been changed (see the 5.0.3 thread), but we'll only know when the next update appears...! -
BandLab Assistant updated to 5.0.3

I'll wait until this one appears before doing the manual download, as it's possible the latest version has the same problem! -
BandLab Assistant updated to 5.0.3

Looking at the file mentioned in stack trace, app.asar contains the javascript. There is an object called analytics, with a function called sendRequest, so this is probably the cause of the problem. -

Self update fails with the following log entries: [2019-01-24 00:15:17.606] [info] Checking for update [2019-01-24 00:15:18.613] [info] Found version 5.0.3 (url: BandLab Assistant Setup 5.0.3.exe) [2019-01-24 00:15:18.619] [error] Error: TypeError: analytics.send is not a function at NsisUpdater.autoUpdater.on (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\updater.js:21:13) at emitOne (events.js:116:13) at NsisUpdater.emit (events.js:211:7) at NsisUpdater.onUpdateAvailable (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\node_modules\electron-updater\src\AppUpdater.ts:375:10) at C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\node_modules\electron-updater\src\AppUpdater.ts:361:10 From previous event: at NsisUpdater.doCheckForUpdates (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\node_modules\electron-updater\src\AppUpdater.ts:348:34) at C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\node_modules\electron-updater\src\AppUpdater.ts:287:25 at Generator.next (<anonymous>) at runCallback (timers.js:789:20) at tryOnImmediate (timers.js:751:5) at processImmediate [as _immediateCallback] (timers.js:722:5) From previous event: at NsisUpdater._checkForUpdates (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\node_modules\electron-updater\src\AppUpdater.ts:282:33) at NsisUpdater.checkForUpdates (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\node_modules\electron-updater\src\AppUpdater.ts:221:35) at checkForUpdates (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\updater.js:33:15) at EventEmitter.ipcMain.on.ipcEvent (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\app.asar\index-win.js:146:36) at emitOne (events.js:116:13) at EventEmitter.emit (events.js:211:7) at WebContents.<anonymous> (C:\Users\Me\AppData\Local\Programs\bandlab-assistant\resources\electron.asar\browser\api\web-contents.js:286:13) at emitTwo (events.js:126:13) at WebContents.emit (events.js:214:7) -
Yes, I got the download message and link as well, but what's the point of offering a self update if it doesn't work? Might as well offer the link in the first place and not bother with the self update.

The latest version is failing to update for me. Here's the error from the log file, in case anyone from Bandlab passes by... Apart from the 6 this Q currently has!

You could revoke your vote, but hopefully the OP will select the best answer so other sorting options will kick in.

Using IE11 was possible at one point. Are you entering your username/password when using your home/studio PC? I suspect not because there's possibly a cookie which is remembering you've previously logged in. The test would be to explicitly log out, but then you might lose your IE login...
-
Not an answer but the script error is "'fetch' is undefined". It appears fetch() is a javascript method which is not supported by IE: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/Fetch_API/Using_Fetch#Browser_compatibility so unless the login script is amended to explicitly support IE, it's possible IE login will never be possible.

Self update worked for me this time.
