I don't use cello that much (even though it might be my favourite instrument in terms of pure sound) but I‘ve had some fun with this. It can even be mapped to be like 50% MPE, so I might be biased.

I don't really care for synth romplers, so I haven't tried those. I own a sitar of theirs and I think a double bass and a rhodes or wurli. Can't remember because all of it is honestly so bad it didn't even make its way onto my backup drive. Anyway, to me all of them don't even remotely sound like a real instrument. That's really it. There are no script "issues", there's just no detail like sampled frets or key sounds or whatever (AFAIR, anyway). They're just romplers. Not that I expect a detailed instrument at these trash bin prices, but I guess I generally just don't see the point of anything that isn't high quality. I am assuming a lot of the positive things people have to say is based around being "good for the price". To me, there's no such thing. Something is either good or it isn't. If people see value in this kind of stuff, knock yourselves out. But even if we're talking super low budget, there's much better value out there: Sampletekk, Sonic Zest, even some free libraries like in your giant thread. I know I've regretted even small purchases like this, because a waste of any amount of money is still a waste of money.

I've listened to a bunch of demos from this dev and even bought a thing or two. Honestly, you might as well literally just burn your money. Everything I've tried and heard is sampled badly and scripted badly to a point where I'd call it unusable even in a sketch or demo context.

I don’t usually get involved in discussion on here because it’s a waste of time trying to change anyone’s opinion and it’s very unlikely anyone changes my opinion about anything because I'm extremely confident in them. Also, it is much funnier to me to drop a half-exaggerated one-liner and move on. See it as a negative equivalent to the numerous mindless „I love <plugin/developer>“ comments in every thread that are being tolerated because they're obviously harmless. Two of the worst things about this society are people not being able to express their opinion without explicitly stating it's an opinion and every negative opinion being seen as harmful. Profusely dumb mindsets like “good vibes only“ and „if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all“ (please read in a mocking tone) are much more harmful to society than any negative (non-radical, non-hateful) opinion could ever be.

Soundpaint - mostly awful 8Dio libraries, but 4 times the size for absolutely no reason. Sounds appealing. Have they done their only good libraries yet, the Claire stuff? I would love for the already pointlessly large 30 GB that could easily be like 12 GB to grow into 150 GB without a hint of a sonic difference.

I love how consistently bad these are so I never have to buy anything.

Esspresso is so f-ing good. I own several high profile de-essers and still pick it at least half of the time. Now that the UI is resizable (I hope…?) that's probably moving up to like 90% of the time.
