  1. This was Very Sultry and Haunting . Loved the "smokey" feel of it. I thought the guitar work was Fantastc ! This one for sure passed the test. ms
  2. @equality , Thanks , yes it for sure needs something .. @noynekker , Appreciate it Bruce , I only found one spot I can get back to the opening riffs without it sounding strange. This alternate tuning is a litttle hard for me to some find good changes. @PJH, Thanks for confirming Bruces suggestion. I for sure consider you the King of melody's from all of your past posted songs. @jack c. , Thanks Jack. I'm not for sure what I'll do with this one yet but a guitar melody lead would probably be the easiest for me. All I've got to do is find one ! I thought the song was dragging some so .. the version that's up was sped up a couple of bpm. @garybrun sent me a master at the original bpm. It sounded so Good I'm going to slow it back down and send him a revised mix when I get it done. I'll be playing in this Alabama snow for a few days first .. Thanks for the support .. mark

    Tight Wire

Hello , here's an instrumental (for now) that I've gotten far enough along to post for suggestions. It's pretty bare boned with a high strung acoustic and an electric guitar . Both in a raised DADGAD tuning with bass and cello. MT Power drums and a single kettle drum from TTS. I've already heard a cello part that needs addresed. Funny how you hear different things once it's uploaded to a streaming service. Thanks for the listen and any crits or suggestions. Link now reflects New mix and "Gary Brun" master. 1/20/25 Thanx .. mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14919168

    They Lied

Cool track Treesha. It sounds pretty "punk" to me. On occasion I would visit a dive bar in Huntsville with live punk bands. When a song like this started they would all flood the dance floor and start slamming. You captured the same energy! Enjoyed it .. mark
  5. SubVibe , I hope this is an indication of what you will be producing this year. Fantastic Mix! It sure didn't take long to get my head bobbing to this one. Great song to start the year off with. You keep raising the bar for mixing in any genre. Loved it .. mark
  6. Cool and well written song. I've always been a MoTown fan and this fits in Nicely. If you are looking for any suggestions .. I'd pull a little out of the vocals around 1k and put it on the drums.. Enjoyed it .. mark

    Right Now

Great Job on this. I Love the vocal tone , everything is very clear. Nice groove all the way through .. mark

    CRYING

I Really enjoyed that. Loved the percussion sounds and the smooth laid back vibe.. mark
  9. Rex , don't forget "bounce to clips/tracks or freezing a track or synth" Don't disable the toast warning you get if you forget to turn it off. Learned that the hard way .. Open the plugin and disable it , and then completely turn it off. I've had issues with Sound ID Reference making volume changes if it was diabled within the UI , but not completely turned off in the FX bin. ms
  10. Wookie , I hope you recover soon . I'll bet you will have a better year in 2025. mark
  11. OK , I'm calling this one done . Made some mix changes and @garybrun took care of the mastering for me. It's Way further now than I could have ever gotten it by myself . Thank You all for the listens , commments and suggestions. The link now reflects the last version. Moving on and see what else I can mangle or come up with .. mark

    Mellow

Great groove on this. I Really liked the falsetto vocals. You really sang a nice round and smooth performance. I thought the low end in the song was perfect. Enjoyed it .. mark
  13. Rex , this was absolutely Beautiful. The first listen was just with laptop speakers . I brought my studio headphones in and think it was around 1:29 when the 2nd tear fell. Not many songs have grabbed me like this one did. I don't see how you could improve it any . Loved it .. mark
  14. @jack c. , Thanks for the listen an comment jack 👍 @Mark Morgon-Shaw , appreciate it Mark. I'm Not satisfied with the vocals either. I sounded pretty unsure of the lyrics and phrasing. I've decided to completely re record All of the vocals. It's been pounding rain here and it's too noisy to use a mic. I'll probably get it done in a few days. I deleted the tracks and quickly hit "save" and cleaned my audio folder. No choice now . Thanks .. mark
  15. @Wookiee , Thanks Wookie , I appreciate the listen and comment. I always liked the song but really appreciate the simplicity of it now. @subvibe , Thanks for the compliments. Means a lot to me especially after knowing your mixing skills. @bjornpdx , Thank You. I Really struggled with the simple main guitar part. I had to swap to a nylon strung guitar to get it done and then did a lot of copy and paste. I think I listened to every version of the song before starting . Thats including all the covers. Apparently Luke Combs (country singer) covered it recently. Get any extra time check out him and Tracy Chapman doing a duet of it at the Grammys. Killer performance and it gave me the confidence to try the male vox parts. I think I got too twangy but the only way I could try and cover both of the vocals. 😁
  16. Hello , I havn't heard this song in a Long time but , I woke up 3 days in a row with the guitar part running thru my head. I thought I may as well cover it and try to get it off my mind. Thanks for the listen and any suggestions for improvement. Thanks .. mark https://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=14906301

SubVibe , as usual , it was a pleasure to work with you on this. You always challenge me and I always enjoy playing out of my normal genre. Thanks .. mark
  18. This looks like a "feature request" to me . It seems appropriate , and the logical way to be done . Thanks ..
  19. Is there a way to configure the control bar module containing the "mute/solo/fx" etc.. to include bus mutes as it does for tracks ? This caught me offguard (again) this morning with an offscreen effects bus being muted. With the ability to show or hide the bus pane (or if there are just too many busses to keep visible) the module should still show and be able to control the muted state of the bus(s). I tried but couldn't get it changed . Thanks .. mark
  20. The dropdown arrow on your workspace module will show the option to create a new workspace or save a workspace. Be sure "load workspace at project start" is also checked.
  21. I'd give 1024 buffer setting a shot until you find the culprit.
  22. Hello everybody . "Thank You" for all the listens and Great comments. I'm calling this one done . I've been away from it long enough now to be more objective. Special thanks to @garybrun for offering to master this for me. The link now reflects his last master. I'm Highly satisfied with it , and I Really appreciate the help. Moving on .. mark
  23. Sound Click. A little harder to navigate but worth the effort. They also let you replace your wav file without having to go thru everything again. Handy for a WIP. They also stream at a higher bit rate than Soundcloud.

Looks like your 1st screenshot was with an audio track selected. The 2nd one looks like a midi track. There is a selection at the bottom where you can bring the audio screen back in focus. (if you can see it) I think it's a down arrow and "midi" is probably showing up now where your master was before.
