AHHHH thankyou that was it. Selected ASIO and good now. Which brings me back to an old question I had on here when i was replacing my computer , "is there a way to back up CbB settings and load them again after a new install" and of course the answer was no and this is why I had a problem today. ugh. Thanks David!
-
I did just realize that this started after I got a new computer to replace older one which I thought this one was faster but I have not recorded on it since I got it in November, Not sure if theres a windows setting affecting this
-
tried that setting still getting delay on recording. It seems for some reason, after using cakewalk forever with focusrite , I am getting latency issues like crazy when recording, will try Focusrite support I guess , this is just mind boggeling.
-
Monitor button? You mean the Echo off button? I am getting a delay on the mic in both the headphones on the interface and the 2 line outputs of the interface My recording is 1/2 second delayed, cannot figure this out when it always worked real time before
-
Even when I turn Echo off OFF and there is no delay on the mic input, I still get a delay on my vocals that are recorded against other tracks . Like I said, I have been using this for like 7 years and have never had this happen before . I reset focusrite controller to default, same thing. This is driving me crazy
-
You assumed that I didn't have Focusrite Control already installed but I do. I have been clicking things in that but nothing removes the delay Also I turned the monitor knob on front all the way down Does anyone know what that "input echo" on/off button is i circled and what it does? and where the echo from that is coming from?
-
WHen this is on, the echo is there When its off it is not. When this was on in the past it used to make it louder with effects but not a delay, This same 1/2 delay is happening on all my projects now with this on.
-
ok but not sure what that is or where it is at what is CdB? I've used this type of interface for like 7 years never had this happen before.
-
I haven't done a recording in a while, now when I open up my projects I am hearing an echo with my project on the mic audio input (using focusrite scarlet 4i4 3rd gen). Its not the effects because when I turn the effect off it removes the reverb but there's still a single 1/2 delay echo. Until I deselect the "Echo Off" button. In the past I don't remember this having an echo when it was on. It would sound louder but there was no echo. And when I recorded a new vocal on track 13 of this old project, the 13 vocal part is a 1/2 second behind the track 12 vocal like its an echo. What's going on here?

ok had to go back to a previous question i asked, i wasn't able to find it because the shorcuts on preferences was hidden by default and I didn't see the advanced selection radio button.
-
A while back I asked about how to export settings when moving to a new computer. I found out that was not possible which is very frustrating. I had a shortcut that advanced the play curse to next or previous measures with the arrow keys but don't remember how to set this up , ugh!! Can i get a hint on that please?

To update the above, I activated the plugin with license info and it appears to work now without that message
-
Thanks for all the helpful info on that. I guess the short of it is that its not an easy transfer. I did check as many of the recently modded files in Cakewalk Core and VSTs but I am still getting an error on the Analog Lab 4 plugin used in an old project. I had to install them brand new on the new system but its not finding them. I guess I need to remove those plugin tracks and re-add them? This is complicated and I would gladly pay a subscription if they had implemented a transfer tool or something .
-
So I upgraded my computer and now i have all my old settings, files, and VSTs and VST settings on old computer. Is there a way to move everything to a new one? Easily?
-
Ok I see in Devices the focusrite was not selected, after selecting here it looks like the mappings are restored. Why did it do this after installing a new driver version? Is there a way to save cakewalk settings (export?) and re-import them?
-
I installed a new focusrite driver and now all of my channel mappings are gone I don't even see the channels anymore in this setting screen. Does anyone know what happened? I don't even know where to start.

after reading manual it appears the daw mode is supposed to be used with a USB connection. Before I tried that i tried it similar to how i had it set up with older instruments. I have a Yamaha synth going to IN of midi interface and OUT going to Roland. This way I can play the roland sounds with the Yamaha through the midi interface and Yamaha keys are recorded in daw. Playback then goes straight to Roland. This works, so I'll stay with this set up i think.
-
local switch is off, can't find midi thru in instructions. Can't figure it out.
-
Not sure how to ask this question. I have a midi interface with a keyboard (Roland DS-61) and I have the OUT of the keyboard going to the IN of the midi interface and the OUT of the midi interface going to the IN of the keyboard. When I try to play the keyboard it seems to send the signal in feedback loop and the keyboard just makes a constant harang noise. If I disconnect the keyboard OUT and play this old file I recorded on another setup it plays the keyboard fine with the selected sounds What do I need to do in Cakewalk or keyboard to not get the loop of midi signals when both are IN's to OUT's
-
I think i've heard of that. Its a 2i4 second generation. I don't think it does.
-
Currently I have cakewalk configured with my focusrite USB midi interface for recording audio. But when i go to settings and devices, i don't see any computer sound devices like Realtek Audio or anything like that which i get on another audio program called Adobe Audition. I can record from computer with that. How do I do with Cakewalk?
-
OK this older file shows up correctly in Cakewalk with patch names on [B] But this is not accurate with my keyboard, this is an INS editing issue and it will take me some time to figure out on my own. And to dispel other confusion on my previous post, the EMU patch names are part of a total list of patch names, if scroll down it shows other instruments. Once that EMU define is deleted and data is removed from Master.ins file it goes away. Figured that out anyway. Roland-Juno-DS.ins
-
I think this section of the INS file is wrong. I changed the patches according to the manual as this was an older file. Editing this is a brain drain as I don't fully understand the number system
-
And it seems after deleting the EMU from the define list the patches are still in there. ! After importing the Roland DS ins file , none of the patches are there. !!?? What how? huh?
