INS File to avoid Reset at "Reset All controllers at Stop"
treesha replied to Heinz Hupfer's topic in Instrument Definitions
This is very welcome but I don’t know exactly what to do with it or how or where ? Thanks for any guidance! -
There are a few ways to do this what i do is copy the word i want to accent onto a new audio track and use the reverb on just this track in the prochannel, fx bin or send the output or a send to a bus or aux track and put the reverb on there

Thanks so much noynekker I am encouraged! I do like vastly different types of music so maybe thats coming through. Glad you enjoyed it a lot and found the mix clear i try !

Thanks freddy j, I played reggae bass for some years with Jamaicans and it is in my soul for sure. I wouldn't call any of my songs reggae (unless I have to pick a genre and nothing else fits) because I am too familiar with the real stuff, but do think of them as reggae influenced. I'm encouraged to know that you loved it ! thank you

Thanks John B! I am encouraged! You are right, almost, it is 2 saxophones. I used Kontakt, the Kontakt Factory Library, 2 horns from there Tenor Sax and Alto sax, panned a bit l and r, one with the Space style dial in the pro channel, the other with depth style dial. I had a trumpet with them for a while but took it out liking the saxes alone better. The beat is AD 2, the organ from Kontakt vintage, and the guitar ample strat.

Thanks for the comments and ideas about this. I have some checking to do !

Its odd, i dont know why any fx setting would move when all i do is click duplicate track. Orig is panned center cause i havent messed with it yet. It is always a small difference. Being puzzled I have looked at any fx settings to see and dont notice any differences but will look harder next time. I will also experiment doing a duplicate with no fx or with something besides vocals because that is what i am most likely to be duplicating. Or see if maybe its a specific fx ? Thanks

When I add a new audio track into an ongoing project, the output is set to my interface not the project master where i want it to be. Where is the setting that I could default insert a new audio track to output to master? Thanks

Thanks Nigel ! As usual I just go with my inclinations and you guys point out what I did. Very informative and helpful feedback and I always learn something new. I am grateful for this forum!

When this happens one track peak meter will be maybe -12 db or so and the duplicate track meter might be -10 just guessing at an actual example but something like that. I usually just adjust the duplicate to be closer to the original and move on but don’t get why this happens
-
The numerical peak indicators will show different peak numbers. I never did go to peak to see if they look different. Yeah i never saw anyone on the forum mention this so i figured its not usual but thought i would ask for any ideas why this might happen for me. Thanks for checking

Thanks! I was struggling with my allergy voice so much ! I had to keep unpleasant parts lower after i did all i could to work with them. Maybe one day i will redo the lead vocal.

Thanks Esther, it really was a lot of work glad you think it was good work ! Hope u post more of your songs

This is not new but I never asked before. Say I have 1 backing vocal track I like and i want to duplicate it, so I duplicate it and it has say an eq or some fx on it so it duplicates with the eq or whatever along too . But when i play them back together the peaks will be different? The settings in the eq or whatever is identical and all i did was duplicate changing nothing, I don’t understand why they would have different peaks? Later on I would process them differently but this occurs before I do anything. Pro channel also looks identical? Puzzled

Yes a few ways to go, i like to set the output to new aux track and hit record on the aux track
-
Thanks Mark appreciate the feedback. It is an organ sound making the reggae type hits and yes i notice it gets a bit too low in places. The bass is my old dark gibson ebo that i used playing bass in a reggae band and i did add a second bass track with a higher pitched vst bass but yeah its dark. I kinda like that it sounds a bit ominous and dread for this song but its not right for most songs

Thanks David I had to look that phrase up ha. Always learning new stuff around here

Thanks for listening and for your comment! Im glad the message meant something to you

A kind of self-affirmation song about being vs doing, contentment vs dissatisfaction, accepting vs chasing, unexpected outcomes. My third attempt with Ample guitar strat, its fun and a lot to learn yet ! Had some vocal issues from allergies still, and did the best I could. Maybe someday redo them. This one is an older song, but took a long time to do. The pic is of a native american pot I have made of micaceous clay (has glitter like mica in it) from the Taos New Mexico area. Thanks for listening and any feedback, Treesha

I saw on reddit someone posted they got the upgrade to 3 after recently buying 2 so i emailed quoting the reddit user and like Larry was emailed back there was no free upgrade for recent buyers and the upgrade price was good or whatever word was used. I did upgrade because i wanted some of the features in 3. So yeah me too

I don't have good internet where I live I usually would go to the library to download big files but not during the pandemic, so last year I got the KK 12 hard drive to avoid big downloads, but not all the products were on the hard drive just fyi I have no idea about this version but last year they were not all on the hard drive. There was discussion about this on here last year, Tezza I think said 100 gb of product was not on the hard drive if I remember correctly. -
I had some issues with vst3 but vst2 seems good although I haven’t used it too much yet

Mix Compensation for Hearing Impairment?
treesha replied to rontarrant's topic in Production Techniques
Izotope tonal balance control can be helpful to get some feedback about how the frequencies of a song match with their preset references. Reference tracks might help just to check and stuff like eq matching to a mix you like. Porches are fun recording is more fun ?
