radofdublin 1 Posted March 17 Is it possible to turn off and on by automation a single plugin in the effects rack while leaving remaining plugins in that same rack active ? Thanks for any help.
John Vere 1,955 Posted March 17 (edited) Absolutely. Just activate the Automation write and see if the Bypass toggle has a red box. It should be by default. You're ready to automate. If it doesn't then right click the effect in the rack which opens this Click on the Write Enabled Parameters And the Bypass should now be highlighted The easy part of automation is just turn it on for the track and go exploring. Anything that can be automated will be highlighted in red. And once you have made any moves at all, an automation lane will be created. Open the automation lane and there you can manually enter as needed. No need to play the track in real time. Edited March 17 by John Vere

radofdublin 1 Posted March 17 This method is great for automating parameters within the plugin like bypassing but the plugin itself remains active in the effects rack. I was hoping to turn it on and off like I can with a mouse. Thanks though
John Vere 1,955 Posted March 17 I'm not sure what you are after? Bypass is essentially just that, an on/ off switch. This is why plug ins don't have on/ off switches, they would be redundant. What exactly are you trying to do and with which plug ins? Mabey that would shed some light on your question.
radofdublin 1 Posted March 18 Was experimenting with amp simulators. Bypassing within the amplitube plug-in when needed results in no audio passing through. Turning the Amplitube plug-in on and off in the fx rack lets the audio pass through. Does that make any sense lol?
sjoens 564 Posted March 18 (edited) You can by using the Clips button dropdown if the plugin allows. In this example, choose Enabled where 100%=ON & 0%=OFF: Edited March 18 by sjoens
