Soniccouture - BF Sale

Recommended Posts

@Fleer what was that deal you got from these guys recently where you said it was a rare deal? Something like 6 for $250? That's what I'd be interested in, whatever it was. Really I just need the broken wurli, but.

I have my eye on this, so thought I would post for awareness.

It looks like they will publish the sales Nov 18th.

"BLACK FRIDAY 18TH - 27TH"

I got my sights on their drums.

😉

Me too! I want moonkits!

Kinda regretting not going for the deal Christian mentioned. I ummed and ahhed too long on it.

Yep, that was the one. Never seen something like it before.

The downside was that they became NFR, which is not usually the case for them.
At those prices I can't blame them as the used market might have got flooded.

I cleaned house on that one...Hammersmith Pro, All Saints Choir, and 3 more of the most
expensive libraries!  That was one not to have missed!

I've got Moonkits and the library does sound really good. There is a ton of variety to be had in the various kits and presets. This library oozes uniqueness and character. There aren't nearly as many high hat and cymbal articulations as say a Superior Drummer kit, but many of the Moon kits come with a whopping 45 different brush articulations. Some of the more oddball Moon kits come with much fewer articulations. The one serious drawback to Moonkits is that there is no internal midi mapping  tool. I can see this being a deal breaker for many.  If you own a copy of full Kontakt,  Soniccouture does share a link to a half-baked and somewhat painful midi mapping work around located here:

Good to know - it's the brush swirls I really want!

When that "not to be missed" deal was on, I listened to all the demos I could find trying to figure out why people are so excited about these libraries. I still don't understand what's so special about them to justify the high price. I guess you need a more refined taste than what I have to appreciate them, or have some very specific needs.

No MIDI mapping was a shock to me and I had to check if Sun Drums supported it. Luckily, it does.

They also have them at Best Service which might be cheaper for some based on tax.

There have been some good used deals recently, probably people selling duplicate libraries after the big bundle deals earlier this year.
