Skyline_UK 60 Posted July 11, 2019 (edited) I'm composing my own 'yacht rock' song and I'm liking the feel of this track by Young Gun Silver Fox: I'd like to use an opening figure like the quacking synth used here, but I can't find anything like it in Halion Sonic or SampleTank. Has anyone idea what a patch like this might be called? Presumably a 'Synth Lead' of some sort. (Sorry, I'm a guitarist not a keyboard player and have no idea of the conventions when it comes to synths!) Thanks! Lynn Wilson 494 Posted July 11, 2019 I think you're referring to the sound that I know as "rubber bass" or "rubber band bass". If you have it, the patch "Rubber Bass" is in Z3TA +2 Classic Factory Content. If that's not the sound you're looking for then, nevermind...

I hear that bass, but there is also a synth playing a part above that one. That could be a "sync" lead making that sound. I think that the Z3TA+2, Classic z3ta+ content, might be s a good place to start! There is one patch in there that might be tweaked to fit in the "Leads Soft" bank called "80ies Syncer".
Lemar Sain 352 Posted July 12, 2019 Sounds like a minimoog bass played as a lead. There's a similar sound in Z3ta+ Muz3um free expasion pack. Bass = minimoog 17. Some mild tweaking should get you closer to that sound.
mettelus 419 Posted July 12, 2019 There are quite a few freebies on Patch Arena, and nicely sorted. The Muz3uM for Z3ta+ is at this link (download is in the upper right of the OP).
