Feature Request: FREEZE BUS

Recommended Posts

The problem arises when you factor in, where would the frozen content go in a bus ?

Buses aren't designed like normal audio tracks but more of a patch point, thus the AUX tracks feature that was introduced a year or so ago.

I think it might make more sense if it was called "Bounce Bus to Track".  I can see this being useful when creating stems.

I don't see how freezing a bus would be possible since it doesn't hold any audio data.  Audio just passes through it so there is nothing (physical) to freeze.  But I certainly understand the desire to freeze the processed audio.  That's when Mark's alternative would come into play.  I would use it for submixes.

Kind regards,

When you press undo, where were the undos saved? It's all behind the scenes.

Even though you wouldn't see it, it could be stored in the project file. The point would be to freeze multiple tracks instantaneously to free up CPU power (in the middle of a project). I actually really like this suggestion.

But if you're waiting to do mastering on the actual wav file (at the end of a project), bounce bus to track makes more sense.

That's why Cakewalk gave you AUX tracks. That's exactly what they are for.
