Going Back Home - Instrumental

Recommended Posts

This is the instrumental version of Going Back Home that I posted a few months ago featuring Doug Kirby on vocals (thanks again Doug).

The melody brings to my mind a peaceful country road with fields of cows and corn on either side. I really wanted to play the melody on guitar but my skills aren't quite there yet (close, though). This is about the 10th version I've come up with and it's still not there so it's kind of rough.

The photo on SoundCloud has nothing to do with country roads. I just like it. I took the photo - it's an osprey catching a fish, which they're very good at.

Thanks for comments/suggestions.

I had a good time working on this one with you - the instrumental version is quite pleasant to the ears - I like the main melody of it.

A beautiful, pleasant, calming song Bjorn.  It almost has a Celtic lilt to it.  BTW, your photography is very good.

Thanks guys for the comments.  I was a little surprised that a couple of you thought it sounded Celtic.  To me it has country roads sound all over it.  But just goes to show that everyone's different.

This is a nice, pleasant tune to listen to.  Very pretty.  The background violins are a nice touch.  I really like the mix and the soundscape.  I like sparse.

The lead instrument sounds artificial to my ears; not unpleasant but programmed.   The main issue is note release is abrupt instead of the gradual fade you expect when hearing guitar.

Jesse, thanks for taking the time from your schedule to comment. A song a day for a month? Wow.
Jim,  thanks for the comment on the guitar note release which I hadn't noticed.  I do appreciate it.

Nice song. Very peaceful. Does it have too much compression on the lead part? Probably just me. The violins added to you great guitar playing makes this one! I can see sloping hills fences and an mostly untraveled road. Animals grazing the fields.  Wow very picturesque.

Very different feel than the collab.
Please don't take this as a negative; I'm all in on the collab.
